I bought some oranges at the rate of 5 for a Rupee. I sold all of them to you at the rate of 4 for a Rupee, bought all of them again from you at the rate of 3 for a rupee and sold them all to you in the end at the rate of 2 for a rupee. What is my percentage profit in this whole transaction?

find the remider 21^12-12^21

Not sure. What I did was, I took LCM of 2, 3, 4, 5 as 60. Assumed 60 oranges. Bought for 12, sold for 15, bought back for 20, sold for 30. Made overall (15 - 12) + (30 - 20) = 13 rs on a base investment of 12. Hence profit of 13/12 * 100 = 108.33%. OA?

what i did after seeing you answer is initially he spends 1rs and earns 1.25rs then again he spends 5/3 rupees and earns 5/2 rupees.. so the cost incured is 1+5/3=8/3 and money earned= 5/4+5/2 = 15/4
so profit% = (15/4-8/3)*100 = 108.33%

I dislike fractions 😃 tend to make mistakes, hence took LCM...
