in a class the ration of number of boys to girls is 7:3.Each boy is given only a 50 paise coin and each girl is given a 75 paise coin.The difference in the amount present with boys and girls is 3.75.how many coins should boys and girls exchange so that amount with boys become twice the amount with the girls.
|7*x*.50 - 3*y*.75| = 3.75
|3.5x - 2.25y| = 3.75
|0.7x-0.45y| = .75
or |70x-45y|=75
or |14x-9y|=15
so x=y=3
now rest can be done with options... (don't feel like solving 😞 )

OA is 6
then the oly possible solution for a,b will be (9,0)(7,2)(5,4)(3,6)(1,8)(0,0)
@shinoda said:
If the eight-digit number N = 76542a3b is divisible by 18, find the number of possible values of N.
18 = 9*2
for N to be divisible by 2, b has to be either 0,2,4,6 or 8
fr b =0
sum of digits of N = 27+a...so a=0 or 9 --> 2 possibilities..
when b = 2
sum of digits of N = 29+a...so a = 7 --> 1 possibility..
similarly for other values..
hence, total possible values = 6...

b=0 a=0,9
b=2 a=7
b=4 a=5
b=6 a=3
b=8 a=1

Ans is 5...
(7/10x)*.50- (3/10x)*.75=3.75
x=30
total amount with boys=10.5
total amount with girls=6.75
now keep exchanging money you will get 5..

6 possible values for N.
(a,b) = (0,0), (9,0),(7,2),(5,4),(3,6),(1,8)

let there r only 7 boys and 3 girls if we distribute 50 paise and 75 paise respectively we get a difference of 1.25 rs but v should get difference of 3.75 so trible the number =>30 people of which 21 b and 9 g money distributed 10.5 and 6.75 with coins 21 and 9 respectively.rest can be done through options

HCF = 7!
LCM = 13!

Find total number of pairs?

@The_Loser

Is it 0?...Considering bth the numbers to be an integer..

HCF=2^4*3^2*5*7
LCM=2^10*3^5*5^2*7*11*13
let the numbers be
N1= 2^x1*3^x2*5^x3*7*11^x4*13^x5
N2= 2^y1*3^y2*5^y3*7*11^y4*13^y5
(x1,y1)=(4,10) or(10,4)=2
similar for (x2,y2) (x3,y3)
(x4,y4)=(0,1) or(1,0)
(x5,y5)=(0,1) or(1,0)
2*2*2*2*2=32

7x and 3x
7x/2 -9x/4=3.75
1.25x=3.75
x=3
21 boys and 9 girls
boys have 10.5rs
girls have 6.75rs
total money 17.25
it has to be distributed in the ratio 2:1
2/3 *17.25 =11.5
1/3*17.25 =5.75
girls have to reduce 1rs
by giving .75 paisa coin and taking .50 coin a reduction of .25 is made
total =1/.25=4

S=1+1/1!+1/2!+1/3!+1/4!+....

Which is the smallest integer greater than S?

This is the series for e^1.

e = 2.7182 and so smallest integer greater than S = 3.
