There are two qualities of milk- Amul and Sudha having different prices per litre, their volumes being 130L and 180L respectively. After equal amounts of milk was removed from both, the milk removed from Amul was added to Sudha and vice versa. The resulting two types of milk now have the same price. Find the amount of milk drawn out from each type of milk.1) 58.662) 75.483) 81.234) None of thesePlz give answer alongwith explanation
OA: 2) 75.483
Official Explanation: Trying solving using option!!

Can somebody plz give the explanation as I have encountered similar problems earlier but unable to solve them.

The manufacturer of a certain item can sell all he can produce at the selling price of Rs. 60 each. If costs him Rs. 40 in materials and labour to produce each item and he has overhead expenses of Rs. 3000 per week in order to operate the plant. The number of units he should produce and sell in order to make a profit of at least Rs. 1000 per week, is: a] 400 b] 300 c] 250 d] 200

@sbharadwaj@iLoveTorresI get 75.48 by doing 130 x 180 /310.My logic is thus:Initially there is 130 of type A and 180 of type B so the TOTAL 310 L milk has A and B in the ratio of 130 : 180. Hence if the two cans each have same price both must be in the same ratio and that ratio must be 130 : 180. Hence the amount exchanged must be (130/310) * 180 [or if you prefer, (180/310) * 130]We can do it with equations too but I am too lazy to use equations...regardsscrabbler
plz explain by equations...would be great help

Someone else has already done so above.....page 946 post 18908. But that is a lot longer - I'll stick to my 1-line approach (xy)/(x+y).

Let CP be 100 and original MP be x
2/3rd x is 90 so x = 135 so gain = 35%

did you make changes to your earlier post??
ABC forms an equilateral triangle in which B is 2km from A. A person starts walking from B in a direction parallel to AC and stops when he reaches a point D directly east of C. He then reverses his direction and walks till he reaches a point E directly south of C.

The total distance walked by the person is:

(i) 3km
(ii) 4km
(iii) 2_/3 km
(iv) 6km
@x2maverickc

Shld be 6km..
@pyashraj

Bingo! share your approach.
@x2maverickc

Yahan since D is to the direct east of point C..ABCD will be a rhombus of each length as 2 units..

Nw, E is direct south of C..Thus, by Symmetry it will be also 2 units in length from point B..

Thus, Total Length travelled = 2*BD + BE = 2*2 + 2 = 6 km..

Painting attach ki.. 😃 [Luk at the weird thng i call Painting..

Let S be Selling price
C be cost price

2/3S-C=-.1C
S=2.7/2*C

2.7/2*C-C/c=.7/2*100=35%

Wages in the ratio=2/3

A=12 days
B=2/3 *12=8 days

(1/12 + 1/8)*x=1

5/24 *x=1

x=4.8 days

ratio of efficiency is 2/3
so b does work in 8 days
so total =24/5
