a tank has a leak at its bottom which empties it at 6 lt/min. it also has a filling tap which can fill tank in 6 hrs. the tank takes 18 hours to become full . find the capacity of the tank.
let the capacity be W
tanks empties at 6lt/min or 360 l/hr
work done in one hour
W/6 -360 =W/18
2/3 *W/6 =360
W/9=360
W=3240 L

It is the correct answer. Could you plz explain a bit more in detail.

shouldnt the length of the rope be given
No the length of the rope is not given. (Question Source: Arun Sharma Quant)

no its doesnt require rope length thats y it is given that it has diagonal & mid point of squares..
Circles are drawn with four vertices as the centres and radius equal to the side of a square which is root(6). Find the area that is common to all the four circles.

1) [(root(3)-1)/2]6pi
2) 4pi- 3root(3)
3) 1/2(pi-3root(3))
4) 4pi - 12(root(3)-1)

Plz give the answer alongwith explaination.

Q1
160??
20 cows eat 1 unit of grass...
30 sheep eat 2 units
2+1 unit = 720
unit = 240...
30 sheep ---- 240*2 = 480
1 sheep ---- 480/30
20 sheep ---- 480*20/30 = 320..
but this is in 30 days, so in 15 days = 320/2 = 160...

let 20 cows eat a rs of grass in one day
30 sheep will eat 2a Rs of grass in one day
(a+2a)*30=720
a=8 Rs of grass
30 sheep eat 16 Rs of grass in one day
20 sheep will eat 16*2/3 Rs of grass in one day
in 15 days 32*15/3=160 Rs
