sryyyy i m nt geetn equation hw dumb i m
aise samjho
Time saved = 15 - 13 = 2min or 120 sec
no. of puffs = 120/ 2 x 3 = 20 is it clear now

bhai explanation?
explanation please

Bro 2 sides r given and a perpendicular is given..with the help of these u can find out the third side ..
And lastly apply Area shall be 1/2 * base*perpendicular
and apply R=abc/(4*area)..this involves less calculation..26.25 aa jayega

pepsi co in jan : 80000*1.25 = 100000
total sales in jan: 144/360 x = 100000 => x=100000*360/144 = 250000
total sales of coca and thums up = 250000*54/360 = 37500
total sales of pepsi in dec = 80000*36/360 = 8000
percentage increase = (37500 - 8000)/8000 around 370 % ans

bhai, total sales in jan: (144+ 14 + 40) / 360 ??
shouldnt we add thumsup and cocacola?

@shattereddreamA 6-cm long cigarette will burn itself up in 15 min if no puff is taken. For every puff, it burns three times as fast as during the duration of the puff. if the cigarette burns itself in 13 min, how many puffs has the smoker taken if his average puff lasted 3 sec ?
3 times faster means each puff is reducing 6 secs from the cigarette lifetime.So 2 min divided by 6 = 120/6 = 20 puffs
What is the smallest number which when divided by 9, 18, 24 leaves a remainder of 5, 14 and 20 respectively?

p.s. I have the solution. But can some one explain the concept behind these types of questions and their solution. Please :)

this one is simple and one needs not go into deep chinese remainder theorem
LCM 9,18,24
remiander 5,14,20 = rem(-4) w.r.t to all the divisors
hence 72-4=68
@techsurge -Are you thru with chinese remainder theorem? I need to learn that.. 😃 kindly pass on if you have some link.

lcm of (9,8,18)-common remainder=68

There are articles regarding the same on Total gadha or the link shared by @naga25french . really good link
hope that helps. TG is also good when it comes to advanced concepts like CRT

It should be 68....
9x+5 = 18y+14
x = (18y+9)/9
at y=0, x=1 (smallest)
so smallest such number is 14...
now LCM(9,18)p+14 = 24r+20
18p+14=24r+20
p = (24r+6)/18 = 6 + (6*r/18)
so we need to adjust r in a way in which we get a remainder of 12 from 6*r or r = 2 simply..
hence, smallest such number is 20 + 24*2 = 68...

( 13 - 3 /60 * n ) * 6/ 15 + 18/15 * 3n / 60 = 6 ==> n = 20 puffs??

2+5+8 .... 10 terms in a.p ; a=2 , d= 3 ==> sum = 5 [ 4 + 9*3] = 155.

2+4+8.........10 terms in g.p ; a=2 r=2 ==> sum = 2[ 2^9 -1 ]/(2-1) = 1022 .

total sum = 155+1022 = 1177
