what i did was that i calculated the sum of 21 terms and then 20 terms and then substracted them ...but the answer does not match

sum of 21 terms of one will be (7n-17)a x21 and that of the other will be

(4n+16).a x 21 and similarly the sum of 20 terms and then substracting and finding ratio but it does not work ... can some 1 help???

I never get the problems related to votes in percentage.

For example:
In an election only two candidates contested 20% of the voters did not vote and 120 votes were declared as invalid. The winner got 200 votes more than his opponents thus he secured 41% votes of the total voters on the voter list. Percentage votes of the defeated candidate out of the total votes casted is:
a) 47.5%
b) 41%
c) 38%
d) 45%
