What is the area of the circle, which touches all sides of an isosceles trapezium having parallel sides of length a and 2a units ??

pie a^2/2

answer

Suppose for the sum above i use this method.. check the diagram attached..

AB = 2a
CD = PQ = a

Area of COD = a^2
Area of AOB = 4a^2
Area of COA = DOB = 2a^2

Total area of Trep ABCD = 9a^2

Let QD = CP = h = diameter of the circle
Area of Trep = (2a+a)*h/2 = 3a/2*h

9a^2 = 3a/2*h
h = 6a
radius = 3a
Area = pie 9a^2 ???

Heya frns, My CAT exam is scheduled on 30th October (evening slot). I am not among the toppers, in-fact not even near them! My aimcat percentile started from a 30 to max 85! And i have scored a percentile above 80, just twice (Yes, you read it right.) These scores too have been because of my decent VA marks (I am an English honors Graduate, passionate for MBA in marketing.) I have never crossed aimcat cutoffs (my sob story). And, your reviews of 2013 CAT has killed any hope that i ever had. I am re analyzing my aimcats...gave most of them. Kindly suggest something for this last week for this poor soul.
Thank You,
fellow cat aspirant.
