@brpedu

A,B,C,D,E are 5 points placed randomly on the circumference of a circle. Every point is joined with the points that are not adjacent to it by straight line segments. What is the sum of the angles at the vertices of the star so formed?

ans is 180

approach plz

@brpedu refer to figure below.
angle DOC + BOC + AOB + EOA + EOD = 360.
Angle at the circumference is 1/2 the angle at the center.
so 360/2 = 180..

V is a positive integer. When V is divided by any of the numbers 2, 11, 13, 71 and 89 the remainder is 1. What is the remainder when V 256 is divided by 16?

ans is 1

A box contains 90 balls of different colours: 13 yellow, 19 green, 27 red, 10 black, 7 brown and 14 white. Find the smallest number V such that any V balls drawn from the box will contain at least 14 balls of the same colour.

ans is 70

A number when divided by 6 and 9 gives remainder x and y respectively. How many different values can |x-y| take??

Now the solution that is given is as follows
Difference between remainder |x-y| has to be divisible by HCF of divisors ie in this case HCF(9,6)=3
so |x-y| =0,3 so only two value possible

Can somebody explain me this solution ,why |x-y| has to be divisible by HCF..

find a number of the form AABC where C=2A AND BC=2AB

Guys can i post some quant questions from free mock cat provided by TESTFUNDA (Its window is not closed n i guess it wont be closed anytym soon )??

On the morning of friendship day, a teacher took n friendship bands to her class intending to distribute these bands among her students. she calculated that these would be exactly sufficient, if every student of her class gave one band to every other student in the class. However exactly 2 students had not turned up and hence exactly n-50 were used up. if in the afternoon exactly 1 of these two students turned up, find the number of bands that remained unused.
