In a group of children, each child has a certain number of pencils from 1 to n. If the number of children who have i or more pencils is 2n – i, for i = 1, 2, ….n, and the total number of pencils is 511, find the maximum number of pencils with any child.

someone pls help me with the concept of grouping and identical and distinct things in permutation and combination in reference to the below question.

in how many ways can one divide 12 books a) into 4 equal bundles?
b)equally among 4 boys?
-in the a) part i cud get to 12!/(3!^4). but cudnt make y divide it by 4! as well..n viceversa for second part!

Is Quantum CAT by Sarvesh K Verma good enough for CAT? I have both and I find questions in Arun Sharma much tougher then Quantum CAT. Quantum CAT has CAT level questions to practice?

8 men and 14 women are working together in a field. After working for 3 days, 5 men and 8 women leave the work. How many more days will be required to complete the work?

A fruit seller rigs his pan balance such that the pan in which he keeps the fruit weighs 10% more than the pan in which he keeps the weight.If he sells at the rate at which he purchases the fruits, find the profit/loss he makes.
Also what if the customer asks him to weigh the fruits in the other non rigged pan. What will be the profit/loss of the shopkeeper..
