A merchant can buy goods at the rate of Rs. 20 per good. The particular good is part of an overall collection and the value is linked to the number of items that are already on the market. So, the merchant sells the first good for Rs. 2, second one for Rs. 4, third for Rs. 6…and so on. If he wants to make an overall profit of at least 40%, what is the minimum number of goods he should sell?

A general doubt.
For an isosceles triangle, will the altitude and median be one and the same??

P is a point inside the triangle XYZ. Lines are drawn through P parallel to the sides of the triangle. The three resulting triangles with a vertex at P have areas 16, 25 and 36 (in cm2).What is the area of XYZ?

Let P,Q,R,S,T,U,V represent the seven digits from 0 to 6, not necessarily in that order. If PQ and RS are both two-digit numbers adding up to the three-digit number TUV, find the value of V.

Pls post the approach as well πŸ˜ƒ

All the internal angles of a convex polygon are distinct integers (when expressed in degrees), with the greatest of them being 110degree. The number of sides of the polygon is at most:

1. 5

2. 6

3. 7

4. 8

5. 10

In the figure, ABC is a right-angled triangle with a right angle at A. AB = 18 cm and AC = 24 cm. DE, FG, HI are parallel to BC, CA and AB, respectively. What is the area of the hexagon DFGHIE, if DE = 10 cm, FG = 8 cm and HI = 6 cm? (in cm2)

@Aizen a cunning maths wizard has nasty habit of cheating people with numbers. He tells @ralins "I'll give you some sums which are obtained by adding some numbers. If you can tell me the logic behind it , I'll pay the amount in rupees equal to the sum of all the numbers. But if you fail to do so , you will have to pay me twice the amount" The sums given by @Aizen are 3, 17 , 49 , 105 , ... , 1281 , 1673. @ralins tries his level best to find the logic but fails to do so. As a result , how much money does @Aizen manage to extract from @ralins ?
