If x,y,z are any real numbers, then find the minimum possible value of x^2 + 2y^2 + z^2 +2yz subject to x+2y+z = -6

I am facing problem in chess based questions:

Eg :1. There is a chess board grid with dimension of 10x12. Find the number of triangles which are not squares.

2. In how many ways we can select 2 small squares from the chessboard such that they have a common side.

3. In how many ways we can select 2 small squares from a chess board such that they have exactly 1 corner common.

Please explain the solution along with the concept. Also, please mention the funda in finding in solving any chess based question
