As per the formulae to calculate hcf of fraction i.e hcf of numerator/ lcm of denominator . if we want to take 2 nos as 1/2 and 2/4( which can be reduced to 1/2), now without reducing the 2/4 if we applies the formulae than hcf of numerator is 1 and lcm of denominator is 4 thus answer becomes 1/4. But in actual the answer comes to be 1/2. How?? this can also be seen in 1/3 and 2/6 or 3/9 and so on..
