Q3
DI question.
The two adjacent sides of a qadrilateral are 6 cm and 8 cm long. What us the max. possible area if the quadrilateral (in sq. cm.) if it is inscribed in a circle of radius 5 cm?
The quadrilateral can be looked at as two triangles. The area of triangle is the maximum if it is a right angled triangle. (1/2) * 6 * 8 and one more such triangle takes it to 48 sq cm.
A twist to this question:
Does the answer change if we do not know if it is a cyclic quadrilateral?
Does the answer change if know it is a cyclic quadrilateral but we do not know about the radius being of the circumscribing circle being 5 cms?

1)A tank of 3600 cu m capacity is being filled with water. The delivery of the pump discharging the tank is 20% more than the delivery of the pump filling the same tank. As a result, twelve min more time is needed to fill the tank than to discharge it. Determine the delivery of the pump discharging the tank.
3) A tank of 425 L capacity has been filled with water thru 2 pipes, the first pipe hving been opened 5 hrs longer than the second. If the first pipe were open as long as the second, the second pipe was open as long as the first pipe was open, then the first pipe wld deliver half the amt of water delivered by the second pipe; if the two pipes were opened simultaneously, the tank wld be filled up in 17 hrs. How long was the second pipe open?
Guys I have a doubt. Is a^n + b^n divisible by a-b for some n?
C1, the largest circle that could be inscribed in a rectangle of dimensions 6 cm × 8 cm, touches one of the shorter sides of the rectangle. C2 is another circle that touches the other shorter side of the rectangle, one of the longer sides of the rectangle and C1. If no part of C2 falls either inside C1 or outside the rectangle, then the radius (in cm) of C2 is

A farmer leaves his home at 8 a.m. and heads towards the village temple. His target is to reach the temple at 12 noon. His speed decreases by 20% (of the original speed at the beginning of his journey) for every hour travelled by him and then remains constant for the next 1 hour. At the end of three hours, he has travelled only 70% of the distance. By what percent should he increase his speed for the last one hour (as compared to his third hour speed), so that he reaches the village temple in time?

A survey of a community of 200 people who play at least one of the 3 sports hockey, cricket , football showed that 80% play football , 22% play hockey ,15% play cricket . what's the maximum percentage of people who play all the 3 sports ? 12.5% / 8.5% /15% 2.
15%... too obvious... its the smallest percentage for one sport (cricket) so maximum playing all can not be more than this value.

Yes bro .. But i have posted here because they have given the following explanation
A+B+C=100%
A+2B+3C=117
so B+2C=17
now to make c max make B=0 so c= 8.5 %
what's the fault in it ? //
