Equilateral triangle ABC has a circumcircle X with center O and circumradius 10. Another circle X1 is drawn inside X such that it is tangential to radii OC and OB and circle X. The radius of X1 can be expressed in the form a*rootb āˆ’ c , where a,b and c are positive integers, and b is not divisible by the square of any prime. What is the value of a+b+c?

Mr. Lenin had lent Rs 5,000 at 8% per annum in simple interest , and 4000 at 15% per annum Compound interest . Till how many years will S.I be greater than C.I. ?

1) 2

2) 3

3) 4

4) 5 Skip

Ɨ

I think the question is wrong..the first year simple interest (400) itself is less than the 1st year CI (600)

Two vessels , A and B ,contains milk and water respectively. The volume of milk in A and the volume of water in B is in the ratio 4:5. Now, x litres of milk from A is poured into B and then y ltrs of solution from B is poured into A. If as a result the concentration of milk in A and that of water in B both dropped from 100 % to 66 2/3%.Find x:y?.

Saw the solution on quant thread for 2012,couldn't get it properly. Can someone explain lucidly?

The remainder when 2^2+22^2+222^2+….+(222…49 twos)^2 is divided by 9?

Find the number of ordered pairs of distinct positive primes p, q (p≠q) such that p^2 + 7pq + q^2 is the square of an integer.

Let N be the number that consists of 61 consecutive 3's, so N=333…..61 times. Let M be the number that consists of 62 consecutive 6's, so M=6666…..62 times. What is the digital sum of NƗM?

Question asked at IIM Ahmedabad Recruitment

1000 people standing in the circle. !st person owns a sord and kill the second person., then third kill the fourth person this goes on untill one single person remain. Which number(person) it is?

What was asked by Recruiter was on position would u like to stand?

Clarification required rolleyes :-

If(x)^y = (y)^x
then..(x/y)^(x/y) = ??
All positive solutions of the line x=y excluding zero.
like
x=1, y=1 will give ans :- 1
x= 2, y =4 will give ans :- 1/root2
x=4, y= 2 will give ans :- 4

these are " integer " solutions,

> there will be n number of " rational " solutions of x=y also.

Let me know if there could be other possible integer solutions to this equation 😐.

@scrabbler@Aizen

Rajan borrowed 7000 from a bank at 5% rate of SI. Amount is to be paid after 5 years. He pays 4000 after 2 years. How much amount should he pay at end of 5 years to pay off his debt completely ?My soln..

7000= 4000/(1+2*5/100) + P/(1+5*5/100)
Is this approach of equating present values incorrect?
Present Value P = X/(1+n*R/100)
Please explain?

If three unbiased dice are thrown what is the probability that either a 2 or a 3 turns up on at least one of the dice?

New puzzle problem.........

There are 12 mice....Four cakes

2)One of them is slower other 11 have same speed.........find the slower mouse.

3) One of the them have different speed ( might be faster or slower) other have same speed.....find the different speeding mouse and whether it is slower and faster?

Every question have different explaination....
