any shortcut for such questions?

two cars a and b start from two points a and b resp. towards each other simultaneously. after travelling some distance at point r car a troubles engine trouble. it continue to travel at 2/3 of its speed to meet car b at point s where pr=qs. if the engine troubled had occured after car a had troubled double the distance it would have met car b at a point t where st=sq/9. find the ratio of speeds of a and b .

a 4:1 b 2:1 c 3:1 d 3:2

P and Q are two points 100 km apart. A starts running from P towards Q at 10 km/hr. B starts running from Q at exactly the same time and in the same direction as that of A at 20 km/hr. After anhour, B turns back and changes his speed to 10 km/hr. After another hour, B again turns back and changes his speed to 20 km/hr. He keeps on changing his speed and direction in this manner till the time he meets A. After how much time will A and B meet for the first time?(a) 30 hours (b) 18 hours (c) 10 hours (d) 20 hours👍

Take smaller triangle and apply pytha : 5^2 + x^2 = a^2
x = _/(a^2-5^2)
Now take bigger triangle : (8+a+x)^2 + 5^2 = 13^2
You will get the value of a=8/9

Two sets A and B are given below.
A = {2^0, 2^1, 2^2, 2^3, 2^4}
B = {3^0, 3^1, 3^2, 3^3, 3^4}
How many different proper fractions can be made by picking the numerator from one of the sets and the denominator from the other set?

The book answer given to this question was (d).
My take is answer can never be (d)
My answer was if 0 is not used as first digit - 162000+2234
if 0 is used as first digit - 180000+2235

A road network is in shape of a regular hexagon ABCDEF with centre O. There are 6 more roads OA, OB, OC, OD, OE, and OF. Anupam starts at A and continually travels along ABCDEFA, while Shruti starts simultaneously at O and continually travels along OABOCDOEFO. If by the time Anupam crosses C for the second time, Shruti overtakes Anupam on each of the roads AB, CD and EF, then which of the following is the ratio of speed of Shruti and Anupam?
