salary = S
profit = P
S = 0.2( P - S)
P = 6S
then remaining 5S is divided in 2S and 3S....... then normal calculation...

@pyashrajthe answer given is on the 5th day work is completed
Yeah It wud be 5th day..

1st day = 8 m..
2nd day = (10 + 8)*4/5 = 72/5 m
3rd day = (72/5 + 10)*4/5 = 488/25 m
4th day = (488/25 + 10)*4/5 = 2952/125 m...This value is less than 30..
5th day = (2952/125 + 10) = 4202/125 m..This value is greater than 30..

Hence, the trench wud had been dug by the end of 5th day..

400 ?

cp = .15x + .2x = .35x
sp = 4/20*2x = .4x
.4x - .35x = 100
x = 200
total chocolates = 400

cp: 2 for 35 paisa,n for 35n/2 paise
sp :n for 40n/2
40n/2-35n/2=10*100

18% ?

let the total cost price be = 100
cost price of p = 10...new cp = 12
cp pf q and r = 20(each)...new cp = 22(each)
cp of others = 50(100 - 10 - 20 - 20) ....new cp = 59 (115/100*100 - 12 - 22 -22)
%inc = 59 - 50/50*100 = 18%
