@vbhvgupta said:the profit earned when an article is sold at 800 is 20 times the loss incurred when it is sold for 275. At what price should the article be sold if it is desired to make a profit of 25%
(800-cp)=20(cp-275)
6300=21cp
cp=300
sp=1.25cp
sp=375
6300=21cp

for a quantity which grows in a compounded way...if it is related to monetary quantity then R =rate of interest is used
for all others,
X1=X(1+R/100)^n
hence
R=[(x1/x)^1/n]-1

A sells at 5/3rd of B profit and C at 1/3rd of B profit. C makes 10% so B 30 and A 50.
At this point we can already solve the problem because A makes 50% profit - if we look at the answer choices, if A bought at 1500, he would sell at 2250 and that is more than D's CP! So only 1000 possible.
However solve karna hai to assume A buys at 100, then he sells to B (50% i.e.50 profit) at 150, B sells to C (30% i.e. 45 profit) at 195 and C sells to D (10% i.e.19.5) at 214.5. Since actually the price is 2145, i.e. 10 times, original CP also is 10 times 100 i.e. 1000.

553 adds up to 13.. if we go by your logic 13 can be further simplified to 4. its not a digit sum question
