what is the value of the series 1/4 + 1/8 + 2/16 + 3/32 + 4/64... upto infinty?
2S = 1/2 + 1/4 + 2/8 + 3/16 + 4/32 + ......
-S = - 1/4 - 1/8 - 2/16 - 3/32 - ......
-------------------------------------------------------
S = 1/2 + (1/8 + 1/16 + 1/32 + .....)
1/2 + 1/4 = 3/4 ?

mujhe jo samajh mein aaya was
See from the given statement she gets 2 sweets less per rupee so by saving 3 rupees she would get 6 sweets. But 6 sweets costs Now if you consider the options 12, see how many 3 rupee blocks you can make(pardon me for my usage of words)=12/3=4 so she would be getting atleast 4*6=24 sweets. But maximum is 20.
Likewise check for other options only 9 satisfies 😃

Ok I interpreted like this - if she buys 12 sweets at 4 per rupee, she spend 3 rupees. But if she buys the same number of sweets at 2 per rupee, she spends 6 rupees.

your assumption mein mujhe ek hi chota sa doubt laga
see if she buys 4 sweets per rupee so for 20 sweets she would have spent 5 rs. this is 3 more than what her uncle charges which is 20 sweets for 2 rupees. he is not giving 2 sweets less for a rupee na..

Q=(24-x)/24*100
62.5*Q=|x-24|/24*100 (loss is also a positive quantity and hence i have took a modulus)
Solving this you would get the CP as rs 15
Q=(9/15)*100=60%
Now when the CP is 24 and you need 60% profit so 24*1.6= 38.4rs

Up to 20 she is allowed, need not be exactly 20.

Bhai dekh na....the question is asking how many sweets did she buy....if she is buying 20 sweets exactly then the question is a waste?
