Two clubs play against each other in badminton tournament. Each club is represented by 12 students. Every game is a doubles game, & every possible pair from the first club must play one game against every possible pair from the second club. How many games will each student play ?
@MANJULNEOGI
Let the two clubs be A and B.Let the players be from A1 to A12 and B1 to B12.
Number of teams a player can form in a club with other players is 11.
Total number of teams from a club is 12C2.
so each team from Club A has to play with each team in club B.
Likewise each team consisting of a player in club A has to play with all the teams in club B
so total number of matches each player plays is (11)* (12C2) = 726

Number of teams each player will be part of = 11
Number of matches each team of a club will play against another team = 12c2 = 66
So total matches played by each person = 11x66 = 726
Number of matches each team of a club will play against another team = 12c2 = 66
So total matches played by each person = 11x66 = 726

Is it 726
A flight leaves Mumbai at 9AM local time and reaches New York at 2PM local time. On the same day, it leaves NY at 4PM local time and reaches Mumbai at 5PM local time. The distance between the 2 places is say 300KM. What is the approx speed of the flight (kmph) ?
(Ignore speed of air and rotation of the earth)

100 km/hr ?

9 AM Mumbai -----300km-----neyyork-----300km------mumbai ( 5 pm )
total distance 600 km ... idle time 2 hrs
9am - 5 pm = 8 hrs
total time = 8 - 2 = 6 hrs
speed = 600/6 = 100 km /hr 😐

in the figure u drew u said it is kite so diagonals will be perpendicular. how ? In rhombus i know diagonal are perpendicualr.can u tell in what other cases are diagonals perpendicular ?

12!/12^12 mein jo bhi bachta hai numerator mein...can't prove it though...

Kite mein symmetry se hi hota hai na? Use similar triangles, draw the "long" diagonal 1st, the one which is the axis of symmetry, and show those 2 tris congruent, then draw short and show congruence again.
That's how we get the formula for area - whenever diagonals are perp, area will be 1/2 * product of diags.
We get diags perp in rhombus and kite of the standard figures. But can also get many random quads (just draw two intersecting line segments perp to each other, and join their endpoints)

@scrabbler I understood about joining diagonals and proving congruent ( since it is standard figure like kite,we will prove congruency by aplying SSS rite?) but after that u said we get the formulae area = 1/2 * product of diagonals .how ?

lets say for the case of 3 chocolate m doing 15c3 * 12 ! first selecting 3 chocolates(for a) i.e different combinations for 3 chocolates, then for each combination rest 12 chocolates can be given in 12 ! manner for rest of children.can u tell where m i wrong ?

no bro...we can't use 12!...if you use 12! you can't determine that how much chocolate each kid has got which we need to know to get the total number of cases...

isme the last guy will take away the 12th of the remaining or will take away whole of the sum left after 11th.....
@Jackson1 i did it like for a
3 chocolate - 15c3 * 12!
4 chocolate-15c4 * 11!
5 choclate - 15c5 * 10!
Why we need to determine how much each kid is getting ? we are only concerned about a getting between 3 to 5. this is what i understood. can u explain the question ?
