read the question first

u r interpreting the ques wrong

@Subhashdec2 box contains five sets of balls while there are three balls in each set . each set of balls has one colour which is different from every other set

this statement wud mean that 3 balls of same color are there...& we have 5 such colors...

and dude for the question where the value of "a" is asked.. "a" can be any +ve value provided "b" and "c" satisfy the root wala condition
for example 4x^2+8x+3 is also a equation satisfying the given condition
@iLoveTorres dude i know that.....i was talking the other question...
@pakkapagal said:
Q:If both the roots of the quadratic equation ax^2+bx+c=0 lie in the interval (0,3) then a lies in (1,3),(-1,-3),(-1,3),none of these
koi isko bhi dekh lo bhai log

Consider (-100x^2 + 300x - 200). Roots 1 and 2.

The metro service has a train going from Mumbai to Pune and Pune to Mumbai every hour, the first one at 6 am. The trip from one city to other takes 4.5 hours, and all trains travel at same speed. How many trains will you pass while going from Mumbai to Pune if you start at 12 noon ?
(Please share your approach)

9??

when u leave at 12...u wld encounter trains coming from the opp direction which wld have left from it's start point at 8am,9am,10am,11am,12noon,1pm,2pm,3pm and 4pm....

so 9 in total..

@Logrhythm yes bro .. 9 is correct !
But if I leave at 12 .. then I will encounter trains at 8am, 9am... till 12 noon .. But how are we encountering trains at 1 pm, 2pm... and so on.. ?? AreThese are trains coming from Pune to Mumbai ???

see, i leave at 12 noon from my starting point...and wld reach at +4.5 hrs ie 4:30 pm to my destination so it is obvious that i wld meet all trains on my way (irrespective of where i meet them) which wld be starting before 4:30 pm...

hope it is clear now...

I have this another problem :

Two people A and B from P and Q (distance=D) at the same time towards each other. They meer at a point R, which is a distance 0.4D from P. They continue to move to and fro between the two points. Find the distance from point P at which the 4th meeting takes place.
(Please share your approach for different meetings in these problems like if they would have met for the 5th time . . then what would have been done ... The common approach is needed)

a. 0.8D
b. 0.4D
c. 0.6D
d. 0.3D

@Logrhythm ya .. its clear .. thanks yar ! see the other one as well .. The problems of meetings when in to and fro motion .. I generally face a problem in them ..

Arre to -inf se +inf kuch bhi ho sakta hai na...any non zero a will work, any a(x^2 - 3x + 2) will be acceptable for example...

ohhhkkkk matlab hum a ki value kuch bhi rakhe uske hisab se hum roots ki value (0,3) me laa hi sakte hai ....isliye (-inf,infy)aisa hi na????

simple one
There are two stations A and B. There are 8 stations in between them. You can take a ticket from any station to any station. What is the probability of selecting a ticket from A to B?

@aashu25 0.8 D ?
