Find the number of factors of 7x x 12y, where x is the smallest three-digit number that when divided by 4 and 5 gives remainders of 1 and 2 respectively and y is the sum of prime factors of 'x'.
The solution breaks down
7x x 12y
into 2^2y x 3^y x 7x.
Then, x= 6 x Lcm(4,5) - 3
giving x=117.
Could you guys please help me figure why the 3 is used there and why is it subtracted?
