dr Jekyll an mr Hyde are climbing an upward-moving escalator. jekyll ascends twice as many steps per minute as hyde does. in all jekyll climbs 56 steps to reach top, while hyde climbs only 44 steps (as he is slower and takes more time , the escalator ends  up ascending for longer duration). if the escalator had been switched off what is the total number of steps they climb together to reach the top??

Hi guys, how do you solve this qn?

What is the number of zero's in the expression

Brass alloy is made by mixing copper and zinc in a certain proportion. The following table shows the information related to four alloy - copper used in each alloy was of a different quality, quantity and price, whereas zinc used in each alloy was of the same quality and price @ Rs 150/kg. In none of the alloy, Weight of zinc is more than the weight of copper.

Alloy    Cu wt      Cu rate      Zn wt      Brass rate

1              12             90            w                    a

2             16             60            x                     b

3             18             75             y                     c

4             20            102           z                     d

Cu = copper

Zn = Zinc

wt = weight (kg)

rate in Rs/kg

Price of brass alloy per kg = (weight of copper x rate of copper + weight of zinc x rate of zinc)/(weight of copper + weight of zinc)
It is also known that W, X, Y, Z, A, B, C and D are natural numbers.

someone please tell me a online source to practice good DI questions?

@scrabbler @Malfurion @muxi @akki307 @doomedforlife @hksparadox

Puys....I have got this problem where I am unable to decide which LR or DI sets to be chosen...Sometimes the familiar ones turn out to be the toughest and the unfamiliar ones become easy...sometimes it is the other way around.

Could u please provide a way or your way of doing the LRDI part of the test..This was seen by me in the recent SIMCATs as well as CL Mocks.I am a bit weak in LRDI...I have been practising a lot..SOmetimes I am able to judge correctly ...other times not so well.

Shud I go serial wise...or even if I choose how much time shud I take to "naap-tol" the different sets

Class X has 4 sections A,B,C and D. Avg. weights of students of A,B,C together is 45kg, of ACD is 55, of ABD is 50 and BCD is 60 kg. What can be the avg weight of the students of all sections together.

a) 47.6

b)49.9

c)53.7

d)56.5.

Please explain with approach.

In a school of 100 students each of them play at least one sport among cricket, football, volleyball, basketball, hockey and tennis.It is known that exactly 90 play cricket, 80 play football, 70 play hockey, 60 play basketball , 40 play volleyball and 10 play tennis.

A) What is the maximum number of students who play exactly five of the six games?

40 50 60 70 none of these

B) What is the maximum number of students who play exactly four of six games

60 70 80 50 none of these

Pls. give a proper explanation with equations. How to maximise , minimise these sets using EQUATIONS.

coefficient of x^4 in the expansion of (1-x+x^2)^5
