Ignorance is bliss! I can start straight forward but i choose to be rhetoric. The MIB_MDM programme, stands out as an opportunity that beckons our bright forthcoming days. Indeed a dream that one always dreamt of having. Germany opens the gate for us to carve our personality, egos and character. Kudos to my mates, with whom i am here, to take a challenging decision of representing the country in Deutschland.

The experiences are countless in the journey so far and so are the memories. The first line says, sometimes you need to just pack your bags to explore a new world without a map in pocket. So is the case with us. Inexperience showed up in the beginning, encountering  uncertain weather, bland food, foreign language and a strange land. In retrospective view , i could have dealt with them differently ( rather a proper way), but if i would have done that, i would have lost the Charm.

Every individual has its own story to tell and memories to cherish and so are mine. Being in Germany is an escapade, expedition that has lot to be spoken about. I will definitely share my piece of Gaiety in coming days....

IILM IILM IILM IILM..........IILM not only gave me a chance to study in world class university in Germany, but also gave me a path to travel around and explore new places, people and culture. On a weekend i went on a trip to swissssssssss...Been there with my childhood friend and her family. We started our journey from Stuttgart in Germany by car.

The drive on German highways is admirable. The beautiful scenes of country side attracts you. As we got close to Switzerland, heights of fog increased and that made our travel a bit hard and finally we reached Grindelwald.

From Grindelwald we started our journey to Jungfraujoch by train. The wonders began almost as soon as we left the train station, and the train runs through the Alps and we could see the beautiful landscapes of the huge mountains, sometimes sprinkled with small villages, houses and animals. It continued till we reach our destination and as we step out of the train and into Jungfraujoch station, which is entirely carved inside the rock. Once we step out of the station it was all white white white......everything  is covered with snow, as I am passionate of capturing pictures I tried to work with my cam, but the cool breezes and the temperature did not allow me. There were restaurants, an Indian restaurant as well, Souvenir shops and many more.  There was a chocolate shop too. Which one should definitely try. We spent around 3-4 hours playing there and it took us another few hours back down.

After a long day in a super cold temperature, nothing is better than an Indian food with a glass of rum. With that we had a superb ending to our trip. And if you are planning a trip to swiss.....do visit Jungfraujoch...

First I was skeptic , If 5 months would have an effect and Is  "MDM-MIB" Programme offered by IILM  was the right choice for me. But Later... Everything turned out to be fine. Here  Professional teaching at FH-Dortmund university with so experienced faculties is  good . Found the atmosphere relaxed and the people are very friendly & help full  specially here I need to mention about our FH-Dortmund  Prof.Gregor who is Deen of this MDM-MIB as well. He is so generous and kind to us and always there to help us whether it is related to studies or any other kind of help . And  I am always thankful to our institution "IILM " who gave me such a platform to explore here in Germany(Dortmund). And Special thanks to Prof . Raj kishan Nair and Dr.Taruna Gautam.

2014- A big turn of my life

Today is 31 dec (last day of 2014). In morning, when I woke up and saw out of window, there was all white with full of snow. I never thought about it that I would ever see snow like this out of my room. So I started thinking like what step I took in this year, which gave such a good result. And so many things came to my mind like IS IT THOUGHT OF DOING MBA ?? or IS IT a result of getting good marks in MAT ?? and so on...... but..... then I felt the actual step was to take admission in IILM which proved as a Big turn of my life that gave me such a big opportunity to come abroad and study. I cant even think to give something in return to IILM. Thank you IILM for giving me golden opportunity. Thank you so much...:)

To all MBA aspirants 2015

I know the time has begun when you all are in dilemma as to which B-school to choose among hundreds of them. I being student of IILM, Greater Noida want to share my experience and how my decision gave a turn to my life.

Last year, I was in the same shoes that you all are in right now. I registered for almost all best colleges that come under MAT. I went to different cities, gave interviews, spoke to students and finally got selected everywhere. It was a phase where I was feeling really happy as I had option to choose from various colleges, but at the same time I was confused with not much guidance from anyone.

Then I realised, that all the colleges under MAT are almost similar and what websites say is always not true. It all depends on what you take from these two years. Every college wants that its batch should be placed with good package. Then I started interacting with college students directly either by visiting college of on facebook or pagalguy. The results were amazing. The colleges that were on top of my list actually started to slip down.

As I was already working, I had to calculate many things such as ROI, opportunities for career, industry fit curriculum. At last, I decided to go with IILM, Greater Noida.

The main reasons for choosing IILM were:

1. Industry oriented curriculum

2. International Opportunities

3. Good scholarship opportunities based on your scores

4. Campus, Hostel and alumni engagement

5. Process of mentoring

It took me lots of time to choose, but now I can say that it was a good decision indeed. I got an opportunity to study a Masters program in Germany. I feel proud to be part of IILM family and would like to thank IILM for providing such an opportunity.

Finally, I would say work hard in these two years and make yourself equipped enough to get a dream job. Good jobs and packages are by product of what you do in these two years.

I would be more that happy if you guys decide to join IILM as it will give you that extra edge that might kick start your career.

If you guys have any queries with regards to this, kindly get in touch with us..

Murphy's law

Isn't it amazing to start your travelogues with this law? Indeed, but I can never detach this from me, even if I want to. And my life seems to be incomplete without this. That is the beauty of this law-"if anything bad can happen, it will happen".

Life is a bland curry without hardships and adventures, a pale salad without dressings of unknown truth and a façade without a garnished character. Apparently my life is a culinary adventure, but it seems tasteless when you know what is going to happen. My entry in Germany was not easy, with the delay in visa process, boarding flight first time (that to alone), followed by dumping things in airport bin (luggage limitation), wasting nearly 4 hours to find bus stop; which was only 100 meters away from the terminal & spending 40 Euros in a week in Dortmund (commuting): it has been a funny journey.

You pay for everything you receive. The most common denomination paid is the most ignored one. That is TIME. I paid and I was rewarded. Everything fell in place for me or else I should say, bang on time!! Got the passport stamped 5 hours before the flight, left the college campus just in required time, reached the airport just when it was needed and finally reached Dortmund before the classes started..

Bad things happened to me when they are least demanded but I harvested ripe fruits from them: Leanings... It was hard for me to pay valediction to my friends to Dortmund, which I, myself deserve. I neither panicked in the ordeals nor did I lose the hope. Today I am happy to be tragedy's most beloved child...... I would love to continue with some more tragedies and some more merry time happenings.......Till then wait..........

Every student has a DREAM  to study abroad , I too had. But there was some reasons ,why I could'nt make  it . Then I joined IILM- GSM for my post graduation and after 2 months, I got a golden opportunity to study in FH-DOTMUND UNIVERSITY in  GERMANY . This was like a DREAM come true for me and this became possible only because of IILM-GSM. So far the journey is going just awesome and I hope it will go on the same.

The most interesting things about GERMANY  is the teaching methodology. Professors here have prepared their whole manuscripts in advance and it is being provided to each and every student so that they can prepare in advance for their next classes. Moreover Professors  here are so helpful and cooperative that they clear all our doubts very patiently.

Well the another things noticeable here is the weather and people. We cant predict the weather here and people here are so helpful and friendly , no doubt some don't understand English much but they try to figure out what we mean to say.

So, in the end  I would like to give a special  thanks to IILM-GSM who gave me this opportunity and I make surely I will do my best.

A coin that fix straight...

After encountering bland food that misbalanced our rich Indian palate we were all set to work in a different organizational structure: German....

We bred a misconception that Hilter has passed his brutal legacy to every German. To our surprise this never turned out to be true. But we underestimated the working style, the pedagogy and the over organized brains of Germans. The class and the studies picked up pace, so did our emotions. We Indians, the kings of over-hospitality ( we always do more than expected) put the pedal on the medal and started our most beloved time pass; cooking...... We always try to build up relations over the dining table. Time went by and our bond grew stronger with the Germans....

With the formation of intercultural groups for the presentations a twist in the tale was expected. There was never an altercation that sprouted but a cold nerve of relations was simmering inside. The tussle between the ideas and the working pattern was intriguing and at times frustrating. Germans always drew a straight line and follow it. They are organized in the theoretical aspect; follow the instructions, outspoken and fairly perfect planners.

Life in India is full of colours and so are the thoughts. We don't follow a line, we make our own line. Given that there are 4 ways to do a task, we always invent the 5th one, the shortest one. Our creative heads think fast irrespective of merit of that thought. We don't plan the spontaneity.

The flavour of Indian flexibility and German sternness is credible. Some times they win some times we, but nobody loses. There is always something to learn, to implement and some sweet memories to cherish. How much ever you spin the Indo-German coin, it will fix straight. None of its face will supercede, that's the beauty...

The days are passing by as we are about to finish our studies in Germany and once again starting back in our country. The journey so far was interesting and I hope it clings on to be like that in India. We all did our studies in India and are quite familiar with the organization and the Indian pedagogy. After coming to Germany we are amazed by the German pedagogy and the education pattern. It is always a gamble to compare the standards between different countries & their culture. But unless the comparison is made we cannot raise the bars. To put up straight I did some comparison and would appreciate if some changes can be adopted at the university level in India.

I had been in the university in India studying the slot system. The system had the motive to reduce the burden of subjects by dividing it into various slots. To a certain extent this system might favour the students when breaking the subject into parts; it may help him/her to learn in bits. But the problem arises when the student has to study the subject only for 2 months or so. By the time student absorbs the subject he finds that the exams are on the way. There is little scope or learning as the time is very less. The semester system always proves to be helpful; it gives the student ample time to consider his plans for learning either in bits or as a whole. In Germany there does not exists any slot system and the students are learning well. Learning should always be given preference over everything.

One more thing I would like to change is the process of "mugging up" which I myself did when I was a kid. There should always be a room for practical studies in the university. More of an interacting class full of activities and industrial interaction. I hope one day these things when implemented/followed will prove a remarkable change for the Indian students.
