Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management organized a session of CMIE Industry Outlook that was conducted by Ms. Saumya Mehrotra to give an overview of the portal to the students. The session included insights into technicalities of the portal and how the students can get most out of it.
CMIE portal contains information about a plethora of industries across the country for a better understanding and comparison of the same. It is beneficial for B-School students as they require the information for their reports and gaining in-depth knowledge about an industry. The know-how of the portal makes it easier for students to analyze different sectors and have an informed opinion of the same. The event concluded with an interactive session with the speaker, where she resolved queries of the students.
Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management organized a session in association with Nivesh, the Mutual Fund Society of LBSIM, for the PGDM 2019-21 batch on 'Introduction to Financial World and Opportunities' conducted by Mr Parth Parikh, the Head of Training & Consulting at FinShiksha. The session included an in-depth explanation of various options in the field of finance and how one can understand the financial markets. The session was concluded with an interactive discussion and doubt clearing rounds from the audience. We extend our gratitude to Mr Parth Parik for his valuable insights.
"CULT WEEK", the first g...ose event of LBSIM for freshers, was organised by the Cultural Committee (with love), called the CULT team from 17th July to 19th July, 2019. The week kick-started with the Ethnic day, wherein the students blazoned their cultures through their rich traditional attires.
The day commenced with invoking the blessings of Lord Ganesha through a wonderful nritya of Ganesh Vandana. The day ended with war cries of the warriors of each section in well-coordinated class parades. The next day was the day of Twinning i.e. Coordination day, wherein the students were asked to coordinate their clothes with their friends or their partners. There were varied fun activities throughout the day that were designed to promote the idea of harmonizing MBA with social life. With this, the final day was dedicated to the lovebirds of our institute and was named as Romeo Juliet Day A.k.A RJ day which was organised in collaboration with Sparsh, LBSIM.
Thus, the most awaited and exciting journey of the "Cult Week" came to an end with love in the air.

Shri Adarsh Shastri presided the inaugural session and Dr. D.K.Shrivastava, Director, LBSIM, delivered the welcome address followed by the seminar introduction by Dr. Ravindra Kumar, Fellow, LBSRC.
Renowned personalities, Padma Bhushan Shri Chandi Prasad Bhatt, eminent Gandhian environmentalist, Dr. Srikanta K Panigrahi, Director General, IISD, Smt Chandramukhi Devi, Member, NCW, and Dr. Rajulben L Desai, Member, NCW, shared their views with our students on the need to minimize environmental destruction and the role of women in this mission. The book "Ease of Doing Business In India: A Critical Assessment" written by Prof. Ravindra Kumar, Prof. G. L. Sharma, and Ms.Sheetal was released on the occasion.

The social Immersion program which was introduced last year by the Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of
Management was kicked off this year with gusto and enthusiastic participation from the students.
The goal for this year’s initiative was to understand the challenges faced by the People with Disability (PWD).
40 students were carefully selected to work in various projects to improve their lives.
A team of students visited cities like Chandigarh, Delhi, etc., met many business leaders and gathered information about the kind of work they have done with various NGOs.
The day of 8th August 2019 marked a step closer to the industry happenings, for the PGDM batch of 2019-2021, when LBSIM organized an industrial visit to the Maruti Suzuki, Gurugram Plant. The intention was to amalgamate the industry-driven curriculum with practical knowledge for providing an extra edge to the students.
The visit was initiated through an engaging session, wherein the company’s PR head acquainted the students with various stages involved in the manufacturing process. The visit also showcased the state-of-the-art production system of at the plant. The students were given practical insights about the assembly line system of production.
The visit culminated with instilling an in-depth knowledge of the automobile sector of India; ranging from the production to the challenges, into the young business minds of tomorrow.
The 73rd Independence Day was celebrated in LBSIM in association with Sparsh, the social initiative club of LBSIM. We invited children from "Jaagriti, Spreading Smiles" (our long-associated NGO Partner).
The bright day commenced with the flag hoisting by Col. Ajay Sood, CAO, LBSIM who inspired the young minds by briefing them about the history of our freedom fighters and their sacrifices in the journey of "transforming India." Mr. Sachin Khera, Administration Officer, LBSIM, also graced the event with his presence.
An event filled with a plethora of activities was organized in association with the Cultural Committee of LBSIM and beautiful performances were staged.
The children from Jaagriti showcased equally enthusiastic performances that took everyone down the memory lane into their childhood days.
Like every year, this year too, the Alumni Chapter Meet took place in the major business hubs of the country. A select few students got the opportunity to meet, greet, and interact with the super seniors of LBSIM.
The students visiting the various cities for the Outreach Program prepared themselves for the evening to put their best foot forward and receive their alumni. In previously booked banquet halls in different cities like Delhi, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Kolkata, etc. the crowd was slowly building up. As the evening went on, these banquet halls became the heart of networking and interactions. The alumni shared valuable experiences of their corporate life which helped the students a lot to get an idea of how the industry works. The mood was made festive by the ceremonial cake cutting event. As the night drew in the meet gradually ended with some excellent food and drinks.
Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management organized a special session on "Safety Standards for Students in Delhi" in association with The Delhi Police.
Dr. D.K. Srivastava, Director, LBSIM introduced issues like Gender Sensitivity, the security of female students in the Institute, to name a few. He raised a hope of zero crime incidence for betterment of the society. The guest of honour was DCP of Dwarka, Anto Alphonse who was accompanied by Ms. Kusum Lata, Inspector, CAW Cell, Senior Inspector Mr. Meena and other respected officials.
The students were briefed about the Himmat Plus application and the benefits that could be derived from the same. The chief guest talked about the collaboration between the society and the police department. He quoted, "Every citizen is police without uniform". Col. Ajay Sood, CAO, LBSIM gave the vote of thanks wherein he expressed his gratitude to the police department for their support.
Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management organized an interactive session for the students with visionary Padma Shri Mahesh Sharma. Mr. Mahesh Sharma is also known as “Gandhi of Jhabua”. His work for the people of Jhabua is nothing short of legendary. Dressed in nothing but a dhoti and a shawl, which is reminiscent of our beloved Mahatma Gandhi, has a personality to be revered. He co-founded the NGO, Shivganga which has been steadily working to bring about a social and developmental change in the district of Jhabua, Madhya Pradesh.
He presided over the session with the theme of “Youth Societal Responsiveness and Change”. Mr. Sharma, spoke on various topics such as, the perils of misguided policies and a need for differentiated approach. He graciously answered questions posed by the students and conducted an interactive session.
As India has the second largest population on Earth, managing and effectively using this human capital to enhance businesses is one of the greatest aspects that the Indian business industry is trying to grapple with. Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management understands this and hence organized the National HR Conference, 2019 within its campus on Saturday, November 30, 2019.
The theme of the conference was "Business Excellence Through Enhanced Human Capital: The Changing Face of People Practices".
Personalities like Ms. Richa Maithani Ramola and Mr. Nishith Upadhyaya were invited as the key speakers, Dr. Punam Sahgal as the Chairperson of the Technical session and the chief guest was Mr. Kumaar Bagrodia.
This helped a lot in maintaining a healthy relationship between the institute and the industry and also was a great learning experience for the students as they got exposure from industry experts on the different aspects of the business world.

The Entrepreneurship Cell of Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management conducted their flagship event, EXORDIUM 2019 - The Act of Beginning, an E-summit inviting angel investors as well as startups and entrepreneurs on one stage.
Students got a chance to pitch their business ideas and transform them into an effective business plan.
The chief guest for the event was Mr. Rama Shankar Pandey, Managing Director, Hella India Lighting who graced the dais to talk about the importance of Entrepreneurs and making entrepreneurship the first choice instead of a backup plan.
The session was further graced by eminent dignitaries from the field and workshops were conducted for the students by them.
The event concluded with beautiful performances from "The Social House".

With this thought in mind Zenith - Sports Committee, LBSIM organized RannBhoomi 2019, the Intersection Wars for the new batch 2019-21. Be it morning or evening, the atmosphere was always full of energy whenever there was a match. The sportsmen and women from all the batches showcased their talent and their sportsman spirit in various tournaments of Cricket, Basketball, Football, Volleyball, Chess, Badminton, etc. As the fire was lit by Zenith the different sections also locked their horns in a test of strength and skills in events like Arm Wrestling and Tug of War. All in all, thanks to RannBhoomi the true spirit of sports permeated through LBSIM these past few days.
Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management, in collaboration with Nation Skill Development Council of India, organized "Divya Kaushal 2019: Opportunities Unlimited", a first of it's kind. It's a two-day ability expo on the grounds of Bhaskaracharya College of Applied Sciences, Dwarka on 2nd and 3rd of December, 2019.
The expo brought various innovative startups and companies like Zomato, Wipro, etc together for the common goal of developing skills and employment for the youth of India, especially people with disabilities.
Students of LBSIM also had an important contribution in this event. The Social Immersion team of LBSIM worked closely with NSDC for the past few months to find out ways in which disabled people can be employed and hence become independent and return to main flow of society. They had to pitch their final business plans in the "Business Plan Competition" in front of everyone in this event. Besides this, a team of student reporters from LBSIM also covered the two day event from start to finish. Both the teams were felicitated with certifications from NSDC.
