GD/PI18th Feb
Venue-Xavier's College Mumbai
Time:12:30
Initial Response-Very few people came.
Very disappointed. There were 4 panels consisting of 18 members each. Out of which only 35 came. I was in panel 1.
Initially registration was done for GD/PI which consisted of document verification,form submission etc. Everyone was wearing formals.
After half an hour,everyone was send to the GD rooms.
GD: There were 8 people in my batch. 7 from panel 1 and 1 from panel 4.
Topic: Case Study- As increasing Women crime rate in India. Two theories are emerging. One is that a more liberal use of arms should be made. So every girl should be given a gun for her protection. But on the other hand a different theory states that this will allow more crime scenes in the society. Which one is right?
The GD was really a different experience. Out of 8 ,7 were of similar age,so it was a fish market when one of us spoke. The 8th guy from panel 4 was a little older. When he spoke ,everyone was listening to him as if he was giving a lecture. I interrupted in between few times though.
Personal Interview-
I was the first one to go.
There were three people
P1:A middle aged guy (really smart)
P2: Middle aged man.
P3:Senior man.(HR guy)
O:Me
I entered the room
P3:Please sit
P1: So ,Tell me about yourself.
O: Told(blah blah n stuff).
P1: So you are doing Btech Computer. What is the difference between Btech Computer and Btech Computer Science ?
O:No difference sir.
P1:What is the difference between Science and Technology.
O:Told(haha cakewalk

)P1:Which is your favourite subject in engineering?
O:Told.
P1 Started asking technical questions about the subject till i was not able to answer.
It went for 10 minutes.
P2:So you are into sports. Why didn't you make a career out of this ?
O:sir,blah blah.
P3:So what are the dimensions of the field etc.....?
O:Told
P3: So you chose finance over marketing?
O:Yes sir.
P3:Why?
O:Sir,this and that. I have interest ,blah blah.
P3: How much is the mutual fund market of India?
O:(Shit , i had no idea about that ) No idea sir.
) No idea sir.P3: Difference between Investment bank and Retail Bank?
O:Told.
P3:Name any 5 investment banks in india?
O:Told only 3.
P3:Name 3 mutual funds?
O:Told.
P3:What is 4.5 % of 19 crores.
O:(Pause)(I can't calculate that...err. what to say) another pause.
P3: R u good in numbers?
O:Not exactly sir.
P3: So u like music. What kind of music u hear.?
O: Sir ,pop and rock.
P3:Your favourite artist?
O:Told
P3:Have you heard beyonce? Who is she?
O:(was laughing from inside. This old guy knows beyonce. Controlled my emotions though) Sir, yes, she is so so.
P3: Ok ,it was nice meeting you(shook hands)
O:(Greeted others and left)
GD overall-3.5/5
PI:4/5

@Aaran Regarding the queries about Specializations. Here is something that can help.
1. In the First Yr, all the courses are common to everybody, irrespective of the specialization.
2. In the second yr, you have to take 'X' amount of courses, irrespective of the specialization you have chosen.
3. This 'x' can be of just one specialization or a mixture of two specializations.
4. You have to study at least 5 courses of any area to make it ur Minor specialization.
5. If you take PGDM(Mkt or Fin), doesnt matter, you can take up 5 courses of any other area in the 2nd year and make it ur minor specialization.

hei guys is there any chance of shifting the venue of gd/pi location??? i have it on saturday in bangalore, but i will not be able to make it there instead i would prefer it in mumbai.

Unless if it is another exam falling on the same date (like CMAT), they do not allow you to change venues. Especially at such short notice. I am a victim of this policy. Gotta take it :(
@RohitSrivastav i have my gd-pi on 24th which is on similar date of my CMAT, can i reschedule this? reply soon
when will the reslts be announced??
@vitsmayank I think this would be a problem at this time, because our process is really short and it starts at the time given, but still you can still mail ur problem to [email protected] and see what can we do.
