IMT Hyderabad, in collaboration with CII Telangana, organized the Telangana Skills Summit with the theme 'Unleashing the Future of Skills & Workplaces' on 20 February 2021 on a Virtual platform.
Our esteemed Dean Prof. Dr Sriharsha Reddy and Prof. Kalyan Chejerla addressed the conference. The Skills Summit's objective was to deliberate on the new trends in skills and workplaces, get the students ready for global markets and academic institutions' roles.

" I didn't have much of an idea about photography, nor did I want to be a photographer up until I came to IMT. During the orientation session that we had at the start of the academic year, where one of our faculty, Prof Archana handed me a camera and asked me to capture the event. I was clueless about how to operate a camera in the first place, but somehow, I managed to figure it out, and my batchmates and I were rather impressed with the outcome. So then I decided to pick this up as a hobby and that's where it all started for me.
At IMT, I was a part of MRC, where I was the official photographer for the institute. I had a lot of opportunities to practice this budding talent through MRC while having to cover the various event that other clubs and committees hosted. AT IMT, we were able to balance academics with our other interests. We were able to build a good rapport with our faculty. In addition to being excellent academicians, they used to push us to pursue our interests. Over the course of my MBA, I picked up essential managerial skills coming in handy now.
Previously, I worked at a stockbroking company as a market research analyst. I somehow managed to balance both my 9-5 as well as my passion for photography. IMT helped me learn how to strike this balance effectively and the transition to my present career a smooth process.
Although I am the CPO at Pixcy, I head the operations of the photo wing. This position requires skills that you only learn in an MBA. You don't have many, if not any, Chief Photography Officers in the country. But this job calls for a C-level role and it has been great. It has been a very rewarding journey for me and I have grown and learnt a great deal on the way here."
