Profile 10th : 92.1 12th : 74 Grad: 78 Work ex : 28 months in IT NC OBC Male engineer Best convert is VGsom this year, but I'm hesitant to join because I know I can do better in CAT this year since WFH is giving me more time for studies and also the possibility of entire first semester going online at VGsom. What should I do? Will work ex more than 3 years have a negative impact on my profile if I appear for interviews next year. Please give honest suggestions.

Waitlist 10 in general category. Any chance?
This is the reply to an RTI that was recently lodged. I have a few doubts and concerns and if someone could give me an explanation, it would help a lot. There have been three separate RTIs regarding the category wise breakup. Every time the same response is given "category wise seat allotment information unavailable". When all other colleges have been so transparent in their seat intake, what is K hiding? Why are they not disclosing this information? Also do they have the liberty to not disclose this information? What grounds have they used? Another important point is the seat intake and this is something that I need help in understanding as well. When the sanctioned intake for 2019 was 485, why has it been reduced to 480 in 2020 knowing well that in 2019 there were only 5 EWS seats so they would have had to increase the number of overall seats well and over 485 to accommodate the 10% reservation for EWS. So how can the sanctioned intake decrease? The only way I see it happening is if General seats are compromised for the same (what happened in IIM Bangalore) I could be missing some info here so please help me understand if you see any logical explanation. But if I am not misunderstanding this, it could mean several waitlisted candidates have been kept in the dark.

For the candidates who got converted on 16th, what is the last date for accepting offer?
Now that I have converted FMS and IIM L, I would say the following things. This batch at IIM K is going to be awesome but there are a few issues. Juniors here are afraid (yes afraid of their seniors) because of the kind of messages they post. At IIM Lucknow (even though it's called HELL), even placecomers are warm. They have a team called Disha which helps us all. For example - they straightaway tell that the new joiners can submit their resume later etc. It's a clear and empathetic communication. Secondly, there are a few people here who really disturb me. It's okay to seek limelight for elections etc. But constantly messaging to give point on every aspect, DMing people to understand what they are doing etc is wrong. There are many who are doing it and a classic example is (sorry to take names - Mr. Javin). You will get the position you want. But be patient. This leads to suspicion.

You may have received some assignments from S - COUNCIL. Please don't waste your precious time on those useless assignment. This is a hoax and those assignments will not create any value. Apparently S-council was unable to come-up with something fresh - so they decided to carry on the old tradition. Now some of the useful things that you can do before the session begins are -
a) Learn Advance Excel
b) Try to learn basics of Finance (Investopedia or Youtube)
c) Start exploring stock markets
d) Start reading on brands
e) Revise both macro and micro economics
