PI experience. p1male p2 female p3 female. I have no idea how bad was the interview. starts with Tell me about urself. In hobby I said travelling and I used to walk and observe people and their life. P3 asked what do u think of me? Answered u r very talkative extrovert sociable .3 weakness to mention. Why MBA after engg and after leaving a job in one of the industry leader? Then do u like economics? Told kind of yes. Ask what is Griffin goods. Answered. Then p1 asked to draw a graph of a function. One part is mod function one is of a circle, unable to draw it the circle part but readily draw the mod one. P1 said u r really impatient as u said in ur weakness. But only one of them go through the folder. I used "yaa" once. Dn I realized the mistake. May a 5 or 6 out of 10.

I'm sharing my WAT/PI experience of the new IIMs! I think it was a bit unconventional, compared to the other PIs I have read about

Introduction:
We were asked to report by 12:30. But the process started at 2. 😐
No Photocopies were asked for. They just collected the Personal Data form and made us sign a sheet with our panel names.
WAT:
Scientific research in various fields such as medicine, genetics, space etc has progressed exponentially in the last few decades. Do you think we are capable of using these developments wisely for the benefit of mankind?
PI:
3 middle aged gentlemen.
These are the questions I can remember:
1. We saw you talking to the person who came in before you, what were you discussing?
Me: blah..blah.. something about breaking the ice ..blah
2. okay, so what does breaking the ice mean? Where do you think it came from? How would you find out how this idiom came about?
Me: explained the meaning. Did not know about origin. Said I'll have to google it.
3. What would be the exact google search string?
me: said... they weren't pleased. probably wanted to hear something different.
4. Tell me about your family
Me: said
5. Passes file to leftmost prof, who was a computer engg. He asked me about what sort of analytic tool I would use to create a stock market prediction algo
Me: mostly crap. Spoke about neural networks and AI and how various indicators could be used. Cross questioned on a few of these aspects.
(this is where it gets really bad)
6. Ok do you know natural numbers? What would happen if you add 2 natural numbers?
Me: Said
7. Ok if you added 2 phone numbers, would it still be meaningful?
Me: Blah..blah
8. Okay , what is a random number? Give me an algo to generate a random number.
Me: Freaked out slightly at this point, had worked on a random number generator, but wasnt sure of the explanantion. So I didnt say it. They grilled me on this one.
Then, they decided to switch to rapid fire current affairs. My sleep deprived brain decided to shut off at this point.
9. Who is the CJI? Leader of Opp of Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha? Leader of Rajya Sabha?
Me: Oh shit ..oh Shit
10. TCS ka Ceo ? Ex CEO? Relation b/w the 2?
11. Tell me something about TCS.
Me:Said
Then they asked me something else, which I cannot recall.
Frustated.. they said "Accha Niklo yaar"

I know I probably do not even have a miniscule chance. The atmosphere was pretty tense, which I could not really handle, making mistakes on easy questions. Not a single question on work, why mba, why engg k baad mba, strength, weakness. 😞

P1- So you are a commerce graduate.
Me- yes sir.
P1- ok tell me something about yourself
Me- answered. Meaning of my name. Where i am born. Who am i as a person.
P1- what is quick ratio
Me- answered
P1- what is quick assets
Me- answered
P1- wat is accounts recievable and accounts payable
Me- answered
P1- what were the statistical tools taught to you.
Me- i am not able to recall it sir
P1- ohh cmon. You are a hansraj graduate. You dont know this?
Me- (with a smile)- well sir i am not able to recall it right now.
P1- you seem to be quite cheerful. Nothing else. Why shud we take you.
Me- gave my strengths.
P1- so you are sincere, flexible and adaptable. Really?
Me- yes sir
P1- there is a plant behind you. Tell me in 2 seconds how many leaves it has.
Me-(thought for a second)- around 50 sir.
P1- hmm 50. Ok.
P2- rank bharat ratna, bharat bhushan, bharat, bharat vibhushan, padma shree.
Me- i dont know sir but i think bharat ratna would be at the top.
P2- ok no issues
P1- see this water bottle. What can its 5 uses be?
Me- i can reuse it. Its portable Stopped me in between
P1- need to know its physical uses. Like drinking water and all
Me- i said yes we can drink water by opening its tap. (Then gave a thought).
They said its ok.
P1- u said u like to plan with hard work. Justify how u did im case of this interview. Me- told them the whole journey. Right from cat prep to interview prep.
P2- how much cat percentile you got?
Me- answered
P1- which calls you have?
Me- answered
P1- why u think sp jain rejected you.
Me- answered(maybe goal clarity)
P1- maybe others were better fit.
Me- yes sir.
P1- would you join shillong or new iims?
Me- answered(all are equal in my opinion. Explained it)
P1- so u did some research huh? Tell me wat are the subjects taught in rohtak shillong and kashipur.
Me- gave them 2-3 subject names
P1- only this much you remember.
Me- told them that not able to recall but these are some common subjects in all iims. P1- ok thank you paarth

Best part was their feedback after the interview. You are a good candidate. We did not grill you much. But remember. Watever you say, back it coz even a small analogy can be counter productive.
Wat topic was regarding advancemnt of medical sciences leading to problem of caring of aged people. Do you agree? Wrote about main problems which should be given much more focus.
In short, i might have screwed up But still panel was good.

Me- bla bla.. Told them its not only my experience in sbi but in capgemini also which will help me told them y doing an mba is necessary for me rite now. They looked satisfied

Me- bad loans etc etc share prices fall
P1- why all of a sudden
Me- gave the reason rbi
P1- but what directs them who gives rbi the authority
Me- answered also talked about basel 3 and its implications

Hi guys... I received a Central Govt. Scholarship while I was in college...but i dont have any certificate or acknowledgement for it...we applied by filling up a form and creating a bank account and once approved money was deposited there...so how can i validate this...will a copy of the pass book be accepted..?
