Is SIP report for PGDM-BIFS released? If not then when will it be released? Is there any way to contact current students of PGDM-BIFS? As this is a new course so just want to know about the course from current students... So how can I contact them?
We are being told that...BDA, BIFS admissions were done on profile basis.
But people who were selected for profile based calls in January are no where in the picture.
Were we rejected back then only if we didn't converted to spot?
Hi Everyone,
My name is Kalpesh Khandare and I scored a 99.64%ile in CMAT expecting to convert GIM PGDM CORE.
Prior to this I had applied through CAT+GAAT just for the sake of it.
(Because GIM offers a 2nd preference) I choose BDA
I got a Shortlist based on my CAT + GAAT and I gave my i-Talk and WAT, They went perfectly fine.
Further, I gave my PI and the Interview was all about Data Analytics, Statistics and Programming.
As I don't belong to this background, I obviously did not answer well assuming that this was for the BDA program as stated in the mail from GIM that you're Shortlisted for BDA program.
The Interviewer actually suggested me to take up Core MBA rather than BDA program stating that your profile is really good for a core marketing MBA.
Later, CMAT dates were postponed and hence GIM did the most unexpected thing, They considered CMAT results with the previous BDA Interviews and based on that evaluated the candidates for the CORE PGDM program to save their time and effort.
(Without considering the time and efforts, The Aspirants had taken in preparing and scoring well in the exam)
Evaluating someone applying for Core MBA based on his/her Data Analytics skills is like evaluating a person's physical strength by asking him to solve a sudoku puzzle.
Irrelevant!
Considering criteria for GIM's Admission
40% Weightage for the Exam (CMAT 99.64%ile)
30% Weightage for WAT i-TALK & PI ( WAT & i-TALK went great)
15% Academics (86.73/78.30/7.04)
10% Work Ex ( 1.8 Years of work ex in Business Development)
5% Composite Diversity ( 0 - Because I'm a GEM)
Anyways, I have neither been Shortlisted nor waitlisted for either of the courses (PGDM BDA , PGDM-Core)
And based on my experience I just want to use this platform to suggest all the future aspirants, Think twice before joining or even applying to such a B School because you all are preparing for an entire year to get into a "GOOD B-School" and something like this might ruin your entire year.
And if this post reaches to anyone at GIM, I would request you all to consider and analyse the situation from an Aspirant's point of view.
Just stating that the Interviewers are free to ask any questions in the interview doesn't solve the purpose, Evaluation should be fair!
I'm not writing this to change the system that GIM is following, I'm 100% sure they won't. This is just for the Aspirants - BEWARE!
Take Care & Stay Safe
An MBA Aspirant
Totally dissatisfied with the shortlisting process of candidates. Atleast show applicants the courtsey of sending an email that you have been rejected. Creating such trust issues will only spoil your image of a GOOD Bschool
in my mail i recieved. It is mentioned you are waitlist ed for pgdm program. No other course is mentioned. Does that mean i am waitlisted for pgdm core ??
This is my profile :
XAT - 94.76 percentile
CMAT - 98.45
10th/12th/grad - 89/74/62
GAAT score - 97 percentile
i-Talk - was really Good
WAT - Went amazing
PI - went really nice, was mostly discussion but couldn't answer a few technical questions.
Now, with this you would expect to get into atleast PGDM(BDA) riight?? Except , I didn't even get waitlisted for anything.
This year due to the pandemic, you can expect some hurdles along the way, but the lack of transparency and suspicious selection process really hits you hard. I've seen people with XAT 85 percentile getting into GIM and people with really bad scores and bad i-talks or Interviews.
Anyway, goodluck to everyone who got selected this year.
