Its my pleasure to introduce the Official Admission query thread of FLAME School of Business Pune.
FLAME School of Business is anchored in the concept of liberal education. The AICTE approved PGDM program offered by the School covers all areas in management sciences such as marketing, finance, organizational behaviour, business policy, production and quantitative methods, and information technology. In addition, it covers areas in humanities, social sciences, foreign languages, creative arts and sports for a genuinely well rounded and wholesome development of students.
Through this thread, you can network with the Admission team, current students, along-side fellow applicants of this year.
You can use this thread to clarify your queries on application process, important dates, eligibility, pedagogy, faculty, placements etc and get direct access to FLAME admission resources.

1.Thank you for your inquiry. To know about our career services and placements, please visit FLAME Placement Centre on the FLAME website.
2. Last year FLAME had its own entrance exam. This year we are open to accepting all the national level scores. There is no general cutoff as there are other parameters also such as group dynamics & leadership skills which FLAME looks in each candidate applying.
3) FLAME undertakes 120 students for the FLAME School Of Business 2012-2013.
1)The deadline for applications is 3rd dec and gd/pi between 12-17 dec as per the website. I will be busy during the aforesaid gd/pi period due to personal commitments.....last year, flame had about 3-4 Gd/pi rounds along with 3-4 corresponding application deadlines. So, will there be multiple rounds this year as well???
2)Will the GD/PI round in Pune be conducted at Flame campus or some other centre in the city?
3) Is the GD/PI ROUND a one day process alloted within the specified period, or is it a multiple day process??
4) When can one expect to know the Exact date for one's alloted gd/pi round, so that one can make his travel arrangements (for outstation candidates like me)??

1) We request you to submit your applications before December 3rd, 2011. FLAME will have other GD/PI rounds, for which you will be invited subsequently.
2) Most likely, the GD/PI for Pune will be conducted on FLAME campus. In case there is any change, the candidates will be informed accordingly.
3) The GD/PI part of admissions is a one day process.
4) Once FLAME receives all applications, the Admissions Committee will work out the exact regional GD/PI schedule based on logistical feasibility and will inform all applicants.

I have a query regarding admission to FLAME 2012 PGDM prog. As it is mentioned on the site that the GD/PI will be btw 12-17 dec 2011, i wont be able to attend as my end sems are in that time period. Then how do i apply for the prog?
Q2: For FLAME school of communication, can a BCA grad apply?
Q3: I had a year gap due to some reason so i will be sitting for some semesters together after my final year. Will that be a hindrance factor for eligibility like with other colleges or can I apply as long as i maintain above 50% and a good entrance exam percentile. (Got 97 in XAT 2011):-(:-( Please help

a) If you are facing difficulty in giving the GDPI between the 12th and the 17th Dec. You can still register on the online portal for the dec test. We will be releasing the next GDPI dates after that. You will be automatically transferred for the same.
b) Yes a BCA graduate can apply for the admission to FLAME School of Communication.
c) You should be having a minimum of 50 % in your graduation to apply to FLAME. This is an eligibility criteria which you need to meet. Thanks

- Details about the annual fee structure at FLAME School of Business can be found at our Website.
- You will be called for GD/PI based on the evaluation of the rest of your application which includes statement of purpose, past academic record, extra-curricular, work experience, sports, etc. If you are taking CAT 2011 you should write your registration number in the application form. If you do not have your registration number you can write "Appearing" in the same box. Once we receive your CAT scores, the Admissions Committee will inform you about the status of your admission to FLAME School of Business. CAT scores are one of the components in the evaluation of a candidate's application.
- Please refer to the second point above. Candidates will be called for GD/PI based on the evaluation of the rest of your application which includes statement of purpose, past academic record, extra-curriculars, work experience, sports, etc.
- FLAME School of Business is an AICTE approved two-year PGDM program and not a MBA program. If you wish to follow a specialization in IT, some of the business related courses we offer in this specialization are:
- Understanding IT
- International Business Strategy
- Software Development Process
- Information Technology
- Designing Strategic MIS
- Software Risk Management
- Management of Intellectual Property Rights

what is the MAT cutoff for admission in FLAME.
FLAME's Admissions Committee has an internal assessment process which considers the following for student selections: scores in previous academic record, work experience, extra-curriculars, leadership positions, personal interviews, personality mapping, group discussions and statement of purpose. As such, the Admissions Committee assesses the different qualities of an applicant, giving each student a fair chance for admissions. Even if you score below average in your entrance tests, but your application is strong in other aspects, chances are you might get an offer from FLAME. Obviously, the higher the test scores the better your chances of getting an offer letter. With this procedure FLAME tries to ensure that bright well rounded individuals get admitted to the programs. The admissions are curved depending on the quality of the applicants.
