Dr. Sushil Kumar is a Professor of Food and Agribusiness, Business Sustainability, and Human Resource Management in the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow. Prior to joining IIM Lucknow in April 2005, he was an SSHRC postdoctoral fellow at the University of Toronto, Toronto (Canada) from where he completed his Doctoral studies too. Earlier, he was a Member of the prestigious All India Service - Indian Forest Services (IFS), belonging to the 1988 batch.

He has covered Prime Minister's official visits to Pakistan (January 2004) and Afghanistan (August 2005) as a TV news journalist. He has also reported and researched issues related to climate-related disasters like floods, legal rights of disaster victims, threats posed by climate change to development processes and industry, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction - 2015-30.
