Puys,

I would like to know if Arun sharma is good enough for quant preparation. I am just above average in quant.. (That's i can solve almost all the easy difficulty questions, more than 50% of the average difficulty questions and few of the tough questions)

Is it advisable to prepare from this book alone? (plus mocks)

strted prep 10 dayz bck lately ... wrote aimcat 1410 got 30 marks ...... i m a 4th yr student ..

10th - 91%

12th - 92.3%

btech- 82% till date ...

good number of extra cirricular activities .......

whts d chance fr me to make to an iim or a bschool frm top 20 through CAT'13 ..

wht percentiles for IIM A,B,C,L,K and new IIM's SHILLONG,ROTHAK, RANCHI, RAIPUR,TIRICHI,UDAIPUR,KASHIPUR

and wht percentile range gives me non IIM institutes like FMS, SPJMR, JBIMS etc.,

And approximate attempts to get >95 percentile, >96, >97, 98, 99 etc., cutoof attempts plz ??

i have already applied for cat,iift and nmat. I also plan to appear in xat,snap,icfai,cmat,mat and tiss. however i am confused regarding which colleges to apply separately. on one hand there r the so called top colleges which everyone applies to..but i also want to apply to some average colleges as a backup plan. can u please suggest me wat to do..

@naddy65 you could have a look at the various rankings that are out there. And from there you could figure out average colleges.

Hi all

Unfortunately for me I start my preparations for CAT 13 today which I could have done a long ago.I truly find the beginning as the hardest.

But, I will give my best in the remaining time. My cat is on 5th Nov so not much time left for me. I will try and finish Arun sharma and previous year cat papers by that time. I am taking the mocks for the sake of taking them and hence nothing great to show in that respect.

What I hope from the ever-so-helpful junta here is a suggestion or some motivation. Anything will do. I will try my best to do that. Can I squeeze in anything else in these 2 months. I still believe I can crack CAT 13

I am a GEM from a good college with Xth-90+ XII-80+ grad 75+ so good percentile might get me some calls.

NC-OBC candidates have less chance this year because of following reasons :

1) Number of non-engineering candidates will be more this year and thereby increasing the competition.

2) NC OBC ceiling raised to 6lpa from previous 4.5 lpa, so those not eligible last year would fall under NC OBC this year

3) Cutoffs will go high this year because of the above mentioned reasons.

I had selected NOV 8, 10:00 AM as my timing for CAT exam as according to my readiness. I am a little nervous after hearing from others that you should go for an early date if you want to do better and like that. So, shall i go with it or i shift it to other early date. Plz suggest me

This post is to clear one doubt which many of the aspirants have right now i.e. "Does opting for a slot early / late during the CAT window really matters?"

Let's just say these are just myths, or even better they are just bulls**t. Since no person can appear twice in the exam, everything you get to hear is based on popular perception which is outcome of the hullabaloo raised by the candidates of few particular slots. Yes (according to the popular perception) there are slots which are tougher than the others but then these slots are spread sporadically and you simply cannot say for sure what kind of slot you will fall in. If you have some time to waste on this matter, then you can verify it by following CAT experience threads of last year, you will find out that generally one or two slots in each week during CAT window will have people cribbing about how tough their slot was. Also the slots which are labeled as 'tough' are not significantly harder than other slots, the difference is just a little bit and no one is sure about what is the exact effect it have on percentiles. Prometric and IIMs would say that it is appropriately covered through normalization but then we do see a lot of people cursing the normalization process once the results are out.

In short, don't worry about things that are out of your control and just concentrate on preparation. Best of luck everyone. 😁

XAT exam is considered to be one of the toughest nuts to crack. With the changing exam pattern and high difficulty level, you must have a master plan to crack the XAT 2014 exam which is hardly 4 months away from now.

For people who are preparing for MBA @2014Asprant 2014 a peek into how interviews are to be managed. XLRI interview is considered one of the hardest to crack if not the hardest given the very high reject rate and limited seats and no reservation . Suggestion PUYS.. How important it is to solve LOD 3 exercise for Quant.. I mean nothing beats if you solve it.. if someone is running short of time and solves just LOD 1 and LOD 2..does it make sense? Or LOD3 is something you cant ignore at all!!? Started late prep due to job and now half way down the prep feeling demotivated so this question..

I am writing CAT 2013 and this is my first attempt. I didn't join any coaching for this year CAT. I am mainly focusing on CAT 2014. So pls suggest which coaching will be best for weekend batches. I am good in DI & Maths section. I want to focus more more in RC & VA so suggest accordingly.
