this is my profile... i knw it is the worst among all cat aspirants... i am preparing reallly hard for this exam but i have a fear of rejection on the basis of my poor educational background

2004 - 10th - 84% (cbse)

2006 -12th - 80% (cbse)

dropprd one year for engg exams ... nothing happened

2010 - b.sc 62%

dropped 2010 for cat nothing happened

2011 did diploma in spanish n started working in a spanish institute

2012 - till now pusuing masters in international relations and working as a spanish teacher and also working with an NGO .... and PREPARING FOR CAT AGAIN

please suggest me something ...

I have given CAT12 and landed at 95% and was unable to convert some of the good calls i had.

Now I jumped on to Cat 13 with a bit a of disappointment coupled with high determination and joined AIMCat series at Time Hyderabad. I am very weak in VA and planning lot to get rid of the fear that is rooted in my mind on VA section. I got Arun Sharma Book for RC and VA.

Could any one please suggest me whether I need to join any other test series besides AIMCATs in Time.?.??...(CL or IMS)

I am having last year Time Material with me but the problem is I find the problems in the Time material very familiar as I have worked out those last year.So I am planning to buy some books for QA, DI and LR also.

Could any one suggest me some books for better preparation of these sections also?.??..

Hey friends, I have a bit confusing profile.. I got 89% in 10th, Near 90% in 12 and 72.5% in my graduation. I got experience of 14 months. How much i have to score in CAT2013 to a get a call from top IIM's or b schools ( specially FMS). Do my profile favour for it? I will be just starting full fledge preparation now and I just have 4 months for it.. Can you suggest me any effective preparation plan I can stick to crack it with flying colors. Thanks.

I am 2012 passout from an IIT. I have decent acads (Xth - 92%, XIIth - 96.2% and B.tech - 8.2 cgpa). I got 98.56%ile this year in CAT and got calls from IIM-K, IIM-I, new IIMs , SP Jain and MDI. However, could convert only MDI-PGPM. Currently, I am working at ZS Associates (a consulting firm).

Now, I am in a dilemna whether to join MDI or give one more shot at CAT (with all its uncertainty).

Suggestions ??

  • Take one more shot at CAT
  • Join MDI-PGPM

HELLO guys i secured 89.98% in 10th (icse) and 72.45% in 12th(orissa state board chse) and now in btech i have got 8.43 cgpa which is 84.3% after percentage convertion so whats the probability of me getting into any iim or what shud i aim for ?? i graduated btech this 2013 so will appr cat2013 so any advice ??? plss...hve got time material even with me.

I can understand ewr dilemma guys...so jus wanna say something to all the people who are worried about their profile and wanna know their chance to get into IIMs...

** Well if ew have throughout 90%+ ew just dunt need to worry at all...get a high score and then have a decent gdpi..converting will b e cakewalk for ew guys.. 👏
** well above 80% decent chances to get calls from old and new IIMs...need high score...like 99.6+...
** And if ew have fallen in the group of below 80s IIM A,B & S difficult..try to target IIM C and new ones...for IIM C ew need very high score like 99.8+...
