[Official] [2014-2016] S.P. Jain Institute of Management and Research [SPJIMR]: PGP Admission Discussion

Hi,

I wish to know whether we can change our specialization(Pref 1 and Pref 2) afterwards or we have to stick to it in the 2nd year?

A request to all applicants:

Do not post your profiles and ask us to verify it and tell you the shortlisting probability.

Regards.

@The.Red.Devil @DeeBee1 Hello, I have 19 months experience as a spend analyst (basically an analysis profile) in an IT Product company. Keeping this in view what would you guys recommend I apply to-operations or marketing spec. I am personally more interested in marketing. Also, for score based calls, what was the cut off of CAT/XAT last year?If I understand correctly, the profile also holds some weightage even in score based calls..could you guys please elaborate on this? Thnx! 😁
@DeeBee1 @The.Red.Devil Guys, under the "Academic Details" section in the form, there is a "Gap" section. Do we have to fill up the details of the gap ONLY during the 4 years of Graduation (Engineering) if any?
I had taken a gap of a year after 12th for coaching, so is it required to be filled or can be left blank?😐
Please clarify ASAP.
@DeeBee1 @The.Red.Devil Plz assist.

1. I have graduated from IIIT jabalpur -Madhya pradesh
But under drop down menu, name is not mentioned, what to do in such case?
I think there might be some technical error because in MP there are only two IIITs, one is "ABV-Indian Institute of information technology-Bhopal" and other is "IIIT-jabalpur", but in the list ABV-IIIT Bhopal is mentioned twice, and IIIT-Jabalpur is not mentioned. can you plz assist what to do, because I believe in profile based calls, it might hold some value. 😞

2. While filling graduation marks as CGPA, do we need to multiply it with 10 to make it out of 100? or we can simply fill exact CGPA out of 10?

3. Do we have to mention gap details after 12th before graduation?

Hi concerned person please apply:

I have work ex in IT as QA Engineer(2 years). If i apply for marketing then i want to know that what are my chances for selection when compared to a fresher or somebody already experience in marketing. Also during placements whether my chances will be like fresher for marketing jobs? and my pay package will be like fresher neglecting my current salary and exp in IT sector? So shud i do MBA in IT or Marketing since i m interested in marketing profile. i am in dilemma.
Please help

I am a sailing captain from the merchant navy and I just gave my gmat and got 730. I plan to apply for the 1 YR mba . I would like to know the kind of jobs that candidates from the merchant navy normally get. If I am put in touch with someone with a similar background as mine, it would be fantastic.

Hi Sir,

I'm new to this thread and have tried going through the queries already addressed. Just had another couple of queries:

1. Is the interview experience any different for applicants who have applied with GMAT scores?

Can we only specify one of GMAT/CAT/XAT while applying.
2.Since it is listed that you need to clear the cut-offs, I'm assuming there's a single merit list for profile based calls and not separate lists for CAT, XAT and GMAT applicants. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
3. When choosing domains, I'm unsure how the profile is going to be seen. My workex would logically lead to an MBA in Operations and all my activities do point to Ops.
However, if for an unforseen reason, I cant secure a profile based call(and assuming I get a call for Marketing-my second choice), will i be eligible for a score based call for Ops again or not?
4. Given that i have attempted GMAT already, what will be the procedure for profile based and score based call in my case?

Apologies if any queries are redundant.

Thanks

Hi @DeeBee1 @The.Red.Devil I have a question relating to graduation % and normalization.. My grad aggre. percentage is 65%.. This is pretty decent considering MU however if we compare this to most of the univ in north and south india where ppl manage to get even 90% in grad.. 65% turns out to be really low...

Can I be considered to get a profile based call with this %..??
My 10 and 12th %ages are 82 and 77.. I have 3 years of work ex... decent extra curricular s.. 2 professional awards and 1 certification..

can anyone tell me what are the best streams or choices to opt for mba in S.PJain i.e wrt placements, faculty etc?????

All those who attended the webinar on 6th October, please fill this feedback form! 😃
