I'm an engineer, have work exp. of 2 years in core industry (production sector). After 2 years I quit this job and currently co-own a retail shop. So while selecting the specialisation, I'm in a fix between Operation and Marketing/Finance. Since I have 2 years work exp. in production sector, I was thinking to opt for Operation. But then as per my current profession even Marketing/Finance seems fine (more inclined towards Marketing though). Can you please guide me on this regard?
On a second note, what document do I need to show for my work exp. in retail shop? (I have the ownership agreement with other co-owner. Will that suffice?)
@CAT-Aspirant ideally, you should choose a spec that interests you. based on your profile I would suggest you to choose operations with one of finance/marketing. The first preference is totally up to you! 😃
I took a gap after my 12th to prepare for IIT-JEE (which I did successfully). Do we also need to mention the reasons for the gap. Should I mention preparation for JEE as my reason. I feel it wont luk gud on the form.
Suppose if my profile gets shortlisted for a profile based call but I want to appear for an interview only in Delhi, so would it be OK to answer the following as
NO
or will it hamper my chances of getting selected?
"If you are shortlisted based on your profile, are you willing to appear for interviews in Mumbai in January 2014?"
Just want to know that by choosing to appear for an interview only in Delhi(i.e. at a later stage) puts me or my profile in sort of disadvantage.Please help. Thanks in advance.
@Kvothe. it does not impact your chances in anyway. in fact you will be allowed to choose your final city if you get shortlisted. 👍

@akskshri You should mention the gap. do mention the reason for the same and how you utilised the time. These things are never taken negatively if put them across in a particular style.
@DeeBee1 : while filling up the form in GMAT exam section, one field is given as "ISSUE DATE".
Can you throw some light on it ?? Which date is needed ?? The date on which I book my GMAT exam ?? As Test Date is already another required filed, should I enter my Test Date again as Issue date ???

You should ideally have some sort of a certificate/proof for it. Show it only if you are sure of sourcing a proof. 👍
In academic details section it is given in instructions that"All achievements and ranks/positions mentioned should be accompanied by proofs which must be produced at the time of interview".
But I couldn't find any such field to enter my achievements.I can find only
"Any other important certification/program" field.
Moreover in work experience details section also I can find only "Responsibilities" field,nothing like achievements field is present.Is this problem happening only for me?

engineer and remaining 17 months i have worked in engineering management. Please tell me how can i

2. In addition to my full time job, i have also done consultancy for some CSR projects (Rural
Electrification). It involved feasibilty study, preparing DPR, Sourcing of eqipments for NGOs as well as
for a startup company (incubated at MDI, Gurgaon). Shall i include this in my work exp/ versality/
responsibility.

Mention the achievements in versatility section of the Profile Information tab.
No there is no anomaly in your application form web portal, it is the same for everyone.
If you want to highlight the achievements in work field, then you can mention that in professional responsibilities shouldered and provide a rating according to the priority of the work handled.
1. I have won extempore kind of events in college and corporate level but unfortunately I don't have any certificates nor is it possible for me to get them. But, I can talk about the event and stuff in the interview. So, can I mention them?
2. No certificate or proof is required for professional responsibilities undertaken right ?
3. Also, can I mention watching movies/reading fiction under versatality? I cannot submit any proofs for the same

Hi.. I have a query regarding application for PGPM program through GMAT.. I called SPJIMR and they said they will open up the portal sometime in January for entering GMAT scores. Is it OK if I take GMAT in mid-January? Or is there any last date for taking GMAT (I read somewhere on PG that it's Dec 31st)??
