NC OBC male Engineer
Graduated in 2016, have a gap of around 1 years between my jobs due to a medical emergency at my home. I got 89.5 overall in CAT 19 due to a disastrous performance in DILR section(didn't even get 60). So I only had call from IIM rohtak where I am not waitlisted right now. Also currently waitlisted at 21 in OBC category at VGSoM IIT KGP, which I think I'll convert in the upcoming lists.
So I need to make a decision soon, whether to opt for vgsom or to take CAT again this year. How do you see VGSoM in comparison with new IIMs. Everyone is suggesting me VGSoM but I am in a dilemma, what if I regret later about missing out on the IIM tag. Also if I do take CAT again this year will my age (27 next year) and experience (36+ months) impact my chances of getting through the selection process.
I am ready to put in much harder efforts this year. Motivated too. Please suggest what will be best option for me.
Hello guys, It's pretty late but need your advice. So I am in final year will pass-out in the next few months if/when exams get conducted. A little bit background about me: Never been a studious one your typical one of the last 5guys in the class. Passed the boards with one nighters and btech with one nighters+cheating+a few dozen backlogs. Hence 10th:85.5 12th:69.6 UG:60. Appeared in cat19 scored 75.xx%(66marks) without prep. I know it's v.v.v low so this year I will prepare starting today(I know I wasted a lot of these lockdown months,regretting now). So I would like your guidance in the preparation strategy,I don't have study material nor do I know the syllabus and neither have I studied in all these years so a guide to how to start studying and a way to get into one of the old IIMs(I know it's a very far fetched dream) also I have OBC certificate (plz spare the reservation speech). Looking forward to your help.Also which exams other than CAT registration should be done. Also can it be done without going a coaching centre
NC-OBC guys converted/WL for IIFTD/K, please help. Got NC-OBC WL no. 31 for IIFTK. Have to initiate withdrawal process before 24th. Would it be a risk? Thanks in advance

Currently waitlisted at VGSoM IIT KGP and will probably convert in the upcoming lists as per last year trends. I got 90 percentile this year. Due to my poor DILR sectional score I didn't have CAP calls. Should I join VGSOM or take CAT again this year. Some people are suggesting me in the long run IIM tag will be more beneficial. Since I'll be converting VGSOM in the next couple of lists I need to arrive at a decision soon. Will 3+ experience and my age(27 next year) create problem in the selection process as well as placements in the IIMs. Please suggest me what should I do. I think I can improve my score.
What is the last date of withdrawal from admission process for getting fee refunds for all colleges. Also , can someone explain how the refund process works ?
Why is it that VGSoM is ranked below new IIMs like Udaipur, Trichy, Ranchi etc in most of the B school rankings when the placements and ROI is far better? Please answer.

My father is a Class IV state govt. employee with an Annual salary of 8.2LPA. Am I eligible for NC-OBC reservation? Someone Please help me with this. Few people say that I am not eligilble.
