Hi puys,

I belong to NC-OBC, I have certificate of NC-OBC dated 2012.

Should i upload the same or make a new one and present the new one at the time of GD/PI.

One more thing they have  mentioned a format for NC OBC on their site. Is it necessary to have a certi in that format??

Hi Puys,                                                                                                                     My status on IIFT website has been updated as  :

"Dear Candidate, We have received the print out of your online application form for MBA(IB) 2015-17 programme. You have attached state level OBC certificate whereas the reservation is for Central Level OBC (NCL) category"

Please help, from where we can get the required document. ??

I am applying for the CAT14 but i have some doubts regarding the NC-OBC CERTIFICATE..The question is:

1. In the application form they say about the serial number of the Caste or Tribe. Now my doubt is on the following websites

there are two serial numbers one for the states and then within states there is the actual serial number of the community..So how to chose the number.

And my second question is:

2. what should we do to the NC-OBC CERTIFICATE under the CERTIFICATE heading on the following link

because we are uploading the NC OBC certificate we recently got from the competing authority then what is the use of this form.

I have my OBC certificate issued by SDO which is not in the required format . To get the OBC in the prescribed format I may have to apply which may take weeks.
What else can I do if I have to fill up the form.

Hi Puys,I Am applying for CAT 2014 and i have few important queries regarding NC-OBC Certificate.

1.Who would be the authoritative government person to attest the certificate.(Can the local divisional magistrate authorise the certificate).

2.What are all the required documents to be furnished or demanded from concerned authority when getting authorisation for NC-OBC Certificate.

Please reply back asap as there are only few days for CAT Registration closure.

hello, I am from mumbai, I belong to the NC-OBC category; however, I do not have the non-creamy layer certificate.I downloaded the certificate from CAT website and went to Old custom office to get it signed from the District Magistrate, Dy Commissioner, or Tahasildar. The authoritites bluntly refused to sign it even though I had my Caste certificate and Salary certificates of my parents. Can anyone please tell me what to do?

Guys PLZ HELP.... I still do not have this year's SARAL certificate, as income tax is filled late. Is there any other way of getting salary approved for this year,which can help me get NC certificate?

Hi puys,

I have a small query, I have my NC-OBC certificate issued by the state government(with the signature of the Tehsildar on it) in July 2013..can i register using that one?

And which number is the seriall number on the list..because in the central list of OBC's the number for my caste is different from the one in the certificate I have..the certificate which I have clearly mention the serial number beside the Caste name.

Hi guys, I have maharashtra state level obc certificate. I applied for iift but they discarded my obc certificate saying only national level obc certificate is needed?  Is it applicable for iims also and other top colleges like fms, iit delhi ?

hi. Are state-level NC-OBC certificate and central-level NC-OBC certificates different? are state-level certificates accepted at the time of registration? how do you distinguish between the two. I am from Mumbai. Where can i get a central level NC-OBC certificate in Mumbai. Please help. Thanks in advance.

hi. I have a non creamy layer certifcate issued by the deputy collector of mumbai. But i feel it is a state-level certificate becuase it has a different serial number as in the central list. however it is signed by deputy collector. Can i upload the same ceritifcate. Also i dont know where i can get a central level certificate now. Please help

Hi guys, 

Need some help on urgent basis with CAT registration closing tomorrow. I have already registered for CAT. However, now I wish to change the OBC-NC category proof ,I gave at the time of registration. Reason being, at the time of registration, I had only state-level NC-OBC certificate and had applied for center-level one. The doc the tesildar signed for me, has the my state level cetificate serial no. and its date and not the resolution no..Are these both same..?

However, I realized it only now and have got my centre-level certificate also only yesterday. Plz tell me how can I send this new certi's copy as my category proof. CAT helpdesk, told me to refer to Category FAQ's when asked for help 😞

Plz  respond. What shall I do now ?

Hi, i am actually preparing for ibps po exams due to pressure from parents for a govt job but once i get a job in a bank i am planning to give cat. i have done my engineering in industrial engineering and management. will they grill me about tht fact tht i worked in a completely different field and are there any chances of them rejecting me solely because of this reason?(inspite of having a 99percentile)

hi, i am NC-OBC..i have 92.2% in 10th,85.25% in 12th and 64% in grad with no work-ex(fresher)..what cat percentile should i aim for in-order to get calls from the old IIMs and FMS?..also, how would that translate in terms of the number of the questions i attempt and my accuracy percentage??

With JATs being included in the central list (OBC) the cutoff is bound to go up. What increase in Cutoffs is to be expected ? Would it be close to the general cutoff ?
