Well, thats true, it has more to do with brokers. Even i'm planning to take up finance but i dont see much relevance of NCFM in our field especailly just of the certifacte as giving the exam n passing it is very easy. Though even i'm going to appear for NCFm exam (for capital market). we can keep in touch pm me if u have any other point to discuss..

It mite be of value if a majority of your batchies have not done these exams. Then it mite distinguish you from them during the placements as you could position it as being indicative of your interest in the finance sector.
I had just taken the NCFM derivatives module, which was pretty informative. However I am currently in my first year and most of these fundae are in the syllabus in second year courses. Don't have too much info about the higher certifications (derivatives is a core/basic module)

Hi guys,
I am doing CFP certification (certified financial planner).i am probably the youngest student in India this is a great course for anyone interested in financial planning as a career , also this is the most recognised and most prestigious course in finance all over the world.
U cant compare CFP with any other course. its a different course altogether.

hey nitin ,
NCFM certification is not a diploma course , neither fulltime , partime etc ...
It is run throughout the year and u can register for the TEST at any time throughout the year . The tests are conducted online and are of multiple choice questions . U have to book ur slot with the NSE people to appear for the test .
The test has 9 modules ..and u can choose any Module of ur choice . U can even choose more than ONE module to specialise , depending on ur interest .
The main aim behind this course is to impart knowledge to market participants .

Hey guys ,
I have applied for NCFM course on Mutual funds (Advisorys module ) ...
anybody preparing for the same ...still to get the material though from AMFI
Hie...
i had inquired about this NCFM course sumtime bak. so sharing sum info.
the course has been started n material designed in a way targeting brokers n fin enthusiasts. i guess it would look decent enuf on ur CV to show ur interst in Fin, though dont know it market credentials.. so cant comment on its valuation!
i have also heard that u have to enrol for the course... n @ the time of registration, u cant take the material package.... n then prepare from the same. the exam can be taken any time within a yr! ... but ya got this info from a friend sumtime bak.... so chk if the option still holds!
Also.... any other such short-term courses courses suggested?! pls provide them with details.
Hi all,
Even I was planning to appear for the NCFM (Securities basic model). Lets see how much value it adds.

hi...
i heard of some certifications in the fin field... it has some different levels and also heard it is very costly per exam and it too has great value in the market
if anyone has knowl. on this...plz throw some light on this...
You are required to have the NCFM certification before you are allowed to do any sort of Consultancy in the finance field.
I personally know an MBA from TAPMI, who'll be needing to go through that procedure so he can consult clients in international banking.
Hi all,
As I have posted earlier i have enrolled for the exam by paying 1000 bucks... for the securities basic module... but i feel it waste of money... the material is totally unorganised and there is no pattern and basic gyan given... all crap... neways will go and randomly mark the answers i guess....

Hey i beleive that although material may not be sound and good enough , but what matters is the certificate and in some fields like Mutual funds (advisory module ) , it is definitely an add on to ur qualification and u will need that when u have to sell that stuff to HNIs
So , all in all i think that although all modules are not equivalent ..but some modules definitely have an advantage 😃

Even I Payed the 1000 bucks for the Securities module, yet to getd dates confirmed. Do agree wid Mohit that d notes are really disorganised n outdated as most of d statistics is for 2002-2003. Dont feel like readin d notes but will nways giv d test....
Cheers!!!
