NRI admission to IIM

@dbhai - are u an overseas applicant as well? what all calls do you have? and how did your interviews go :)
@hokiegrad1987 yup, only C - I think it went ok, but you never know :(

oh cool. My C interview was really bad so have no hopes of converting it, so am just waiting for B

@sb3191 - just called IIMB people, the lady said that the results will be declared before April 15 not sure if she heard me correctly, she might have just told the date for domestic candidates.

One of my friends called them too and heard the same thing. Probably the fact that Skype interviews were delayed by nearly a week has resulted in this delay. It's so vague that it could be any day before 15th.

guys can u share ur gmat score....anyone of u applied to iift?

@thomaschandy Have a 750, and didn't apply to IIFT. Don't have much idea about IIFT but there is another nri thread you can go through that. For C anything above 700 is good, and for B as long as you get 90 percentile in Verbal and 80 in Quant you are fine.
@sb3191 awesome score buddy..............hope u get through an IIM
@thomaschandy thanks for the good wishes bro, its only good as long as I get in otherwise its just a useless number on paper lol

I asked my sister to call IIMB during the day and ask specifically about overseas candidates. They said 10th April to her.
i just think they make up these dates, the results for overseas candidates should be out this week..

God that is so weird.

Any clues on A. The web mentioned the results to be out in 2nd week April - not sure how much they r gonna stick to it.

The wait is such a killer...

guys iim-b reslt is out

B results out, and I am not in the offer list. Guess lack of work-ex killed my chances.

@sb3191 - Sorry abt that, am sure you will convert C coz they love strong quant skills. Good luck with that. What about your friend?

I am in the offer list and am going to join B, it was my first choice.

Got in C. Anyone else got it too ?

@sb3191 - did your friend get the admit? am just wondering how many overseas candidates got thru C, i see quite a few here..

Guys/Gals, for all those who got in Congrats...πŸ‘πŸ»

It'll be really helpful for everyone to know your Profiles (Wrk-Ex/Extrac CC) and GMAT score. Please reply.

Thanks

Any idea about the Dancing pagalguy Emoticon? @sb3191 @hokiegrad1987 @dbhai ?😠 😠 Not able to find it😠

IIM-A Overseas Admission (I am not sure where to post this, but since this is mostly about NRI admissions, I thought this might work, but I'm sorry if this isn't appropriate!)

I'm a US Citizen and a senior in college at a top 10 university by the US News & World Reports (Does IIM-A care about what university you went to at all?). I am applying to IIM-A this year, but am very confused by the wealth of information online, so I was hoping for any help or advice about the overseas admission.

I took the GMAT a couple weeks ago, and I think my overall score is fine (I got a 780), but I got a 50 on the math, which is the 89% percentile. Do I need to retake the GMAT? I heard that for IIM-A, you need at least a 99% percentile? Or is that only for the overall score? I know last year you needed a 790 to get admitted without a masters or work experience? So do you think GMAT will matter more or less now? Because I'm only graduating this year, so I have neither a masters nor work experience, and I don't really want to bother going through (and paying for) the whole application process if I don't have a shot at all.

I was talking to my cousin in India, and I don't know how the CAT works at all actually, but he told me that you need a score of around a 320 on the CAT to get into IIM. But a 780 on the GMAT only translates over to a 298 according to IIM-A's online chart? I signed up to take the GMAT again, but now I'm kind of regretting that, because I don't know if I want to bother. I'm considering cancelling my test date. But I will take if I have to I suppose. Any recommendations?

Also, I'm a double major in both a science and a humanities. Should I put both of my majors down on my application or choose only one?

Also, I was looking at the application rating score formula. I would receive a 10 for rating A, a 10 for rating B, but only a 7 for rating C. Does this significantly lower my chance of admissions?

Thank you so much for any help you can provide me! I am very, very confused right now. I tried calling the admissions office and I e-mailed them as well, but have only received good answers about the logistical parts of the application.
