Hi all, I've received a Call Letter for PGDM.I had the following queries:-1. What kind of a Statement of Purpose are we expected to write? What exactly is NMIMS looking for here? any samples?2. In my call letter it is stated in the Preferences section: PGDM does this mean that I have to prepare only one SOP for the PGDM program? or one for Blore campus and one for Hyd campus?3. The documents can be sent by courier/speed post correct?4. Can the SOP be typed or does it have to be hand-written? Also, does it need to be sent in original or do I have to send an attested photocopy?Please let me know.Thank youmbagirl2012

SOP should contain why you should be chosen for this institute, relate your past, present and your future goals with this insitute and your very purpose of getting here..
ONly one SOP for both the campuses..
Yes you can send docs via courier, for speed post( kindly confirm from admission dept)
SOP can be typed/handwritted.. no need to attest sop
1) Do not discuss your socres, percentiles with anybody(other candidates, panel, any other person) at the venue on the date of CDPI..( This is for your benefit, panelist become more fair in allotting marks if the scores are not leaked)
2)Refrain from Fish market..
3) Try to read the newspaper in the morning(My interview depended on newspaper I had read that day at 9am in the morning.. One panelist asked me only on what I had read in the newspaper that day...
4) Prepare in general what you learnt while working.
5) You might be given tags(no's on it), place it well...
6) A little bit about politics, and some ministers of maharashtra and India would help to answer some quick interview questions
This is mostly based on my past year experience, Do not take it a general rule of CD/PI
@shubhamchandra : so that means preference is of no use then. then we should only be asked for top priority choice...as what you said that if we fail to convert in that we won't be considered for the other preferences.... right??
@shubhamchandra: just 1 more question...if i get in MBA core....will i be able to choose finance as my specialization??? or MBA(banking) and MBA( capital markets) are the only courses in relation with finance?
Your rank based on ur cumulative score will be calculated.. The first ranker will get his first preference when allotment of seats begins.. Followed by second ranker and so on..
Suppose your rank is 450, and u chose Core, Banking and cap marks.. You will not get core as may be it is already allotted to min of 360 students before you, so they will look at your second preference.. If MBA Banking has seats which is your second preference, they will lock a seat for you and move on to the next person after ur rank.. They will ignore Cap marks for you as you have already got a seat in a more preferred program..
Hi , I logged into the portal and tooka screen shot of my preferences and i now have mailed it to them so as to clarify why the preferences were not listed......waiting for response..

@didroo I called them up. They asked me to send two set of documents ( since i had applied for MBA HR as well) and reach the venue at 9 AM on the day of my interview and ask them to schedule an interview for HR as well
In case ur problem is just the preferences not being shown, they have said that you will be able to choose the preference on the day of your interview.

Ah...thats a relief i say ......good that i can chosse preferences....i had given mumbai , hyd and banglore in the order....Illl have to change it to mumbai , banglore , hyd :)

@didroo O h i asked about the course preferences.. MBA FT,CM and BM. Not sure about the campuses dude.. You better call and ask them.
@nmims_core Hello sir...i have got a call from both ft-mba and mba-hr....just wanted to know do the marksheets have to be strictly from a notary or a gazetted officer...because i have a copy of marksheets attested by a corporator..it has Govt of Ind stamp.....will that do......n do we need to get even the sop attested??

My call letter says I have CD PI call for FTMBA and PGDM. My preferences were MBA, MBA-HR, PGDM Bengaluru, PGDM Hyderabad.
Does this mean i am shortlisted for MBA-HR also? Do I have separate CD and interviews for MBA, HR and PGDM Bang and Hyd? If so, everything will happen in Mumbai on same day?
I've a received a call for both FT MBA and MBA HR; The call letter says "Send us two copies of documents for FTMBA & MBA-HR each". Does this mean we have a send two copies of each document for each program. If that is the case I need to send 4 copies in total. Am I wrong??
