hey ajay.wud like 2 know if u hv already got through this prog or u r plannin 2 join it coz the admission process is already over.
The Amity MBA is definitely the better choice. Top salaries went upto 24 lakhs per annum.
The Jodhpur program is very new and noone knows how it will do
@ Sabz
I am already through with both of them and got their selection letters.
Iam one of the Alumni of NLU, Jodhpur, Currently into Media Industry, My other batchmates are employed with Enam, Reliance, Edelweiss, Dr. Redyy's etc.
NLU Jodhpur made a very modest beginning and we had quite a tough time initially in adjusting, since the schedule was exceptionally tough and gruesome to say the least and the facilities werent that great either. However, less than 4 years time, we have come a long way.
1. In terms of College Infrastructure, we can very confidently say that NLU stands unparalleled. We have a nice and big 55 acre big campus in the outskirts of Jodhpur. Every student has a room for himself and he may have a telephone for himself in the room. Of course, each room has its own balcony.
2. The classes and library are air conditioned
3. We have a very well stocked library with Indian, English and American Management, Marketing and Finanace reporters, as well as books covering all the subjects, including biotechnology, Information Technology, IPR, trade, economics, bioinformatics etc.
4. Every student in the university has his or her own computer (laptop or PC). The whole university including the library and academic block are connected by a LAN and every single room has been given an internet connection. The downloading speed is amazing to say the least; at least 40kbps!!!!! We have subscription for online national and international libraries like Harward and Manupatra.
5. In terms of sports facilities, we have a Basketball court, Volleyball court, Football Field, badminton court and Table Tennis.
6. Now coming to the more serious stuff. As far as Academics are concerned, we have introduced many new courses. MBA MBL is totally a different Kind of course and probably only university in Asia to Provide such a course, It is a Integrated Course wherein a student is polished with Both management and legal subjects which are quintessential for every manager today. Average Package - 4.2 Lacs Per/Annum or Say 29 K in hand(App.)
7. The food is far better than most of the universities you will go to. yes we can say that quite confidently since some of us have been to other universities for moot court competitions and have had the food there. We have two dining halls, on for the veggies and one for the non- veggies.
8. Life in campus is quite cool. We have a rocking freshers party every year and some of us anyways like to party every weekend (thats Tuesday night). The crowd here is cosmopolitan with people coming from every corner of the country with a sizeable number of people coming from Delhi, Calcutta and Hyderabad. What makes us different from some of the other law schools is the fact that we do not have any reservation for students from the home state of Rajasthan. There is only the minimum 15% and 7.5% statutory reservation for SC/ST candidates.
9. Some of you have been wondering what jodhpur is like. Well, the University is here and not in Jaipur, coz the judicial capital of rajasthan is jodhpur and not Jaipur. Jodhpur is quite a big city (it is the second largest city of rajasthan after Jaipur) and it is not in a desert (like many people think it is. To see a desert, you will have to go to jaisalmer!) it is in fact quite a green city and some of the restaurants here are simply amazing.
10. Moving on to some other miscellaneous matters.. This place is not for the weak hearted! The schedule is tight and emphasis is laid on every aspect of academics, right from the projects to moot courts. Since the university aims at an integration of law with various other disciplines, so equal emphasis is there on legal and non- legal subjects. So one has to plan his schedule in such a way that he or she can meet the deadlines and spare time for other activities like sports, moot courts, partying and biking (some of us bike freaks often go out to nearby tourist and religious spots at weekends). And trust me, most of us are managing it quite well.
We hope this has satisfied most of your queries, and in case you have any more queries, then just post them here and we will get back to you asap.

If u take my words, drop Amity Noida without any hitch.......NLU or any other college is 1000 times better then that.................NLU will go gr8 guns infuture for sure just wait n watch..........
I always wanted to be part of NLU Jd'pr, but life had other plans!!!!!!!!!!!!
thanx sandeep.....ok wud b dropping amity.but i wud lyk to knw whether u knw the pattern of nlu exam.its on 24 may.wht and how shud i study for it.
if u have ne idea pls do lemme knw
thnx once again for ur valuable comment.
Hi ....i m working at RelianceCapital....ok I'll Help u out.
Wat i think ...go by institutes ...who hav proved themselves ....i dont agree with Mr Pankaj Borana. The things he conveyed about NLU.....is a very part of all institutes these days. Even a ''D Grade'' B-School has all those things. Placement is no doubt good at Amity B-School. let me give u some Figures of comparision between Amity & NLU, Jodhpur.
B-School Wise: NLU is not a B- School it's a law School. NLU's Placement is good only for its B.A,LL.B course(5-yrs Integrated course) & not for MBA. Those who r doing MBA frm NLU....u people b ready to b designated as "File managing officer" at Law Firms.
Location Wise: Amity is much better, No one goes to jodhpur for placement. NLU arranges off campus interviews for its students.....Its a very risky thing....as students hav to compete with professionals of experienced world.
Faculty Wise(Teaching staff): Amity comes within top 10 in terms of faculty. Amity Has more than 230 regular full time Management faculties plus many international faculties are invited for part time teaching as guest lacturer. NLU has just 4 or 5 management faculties. More 4 to 5 faculties as part timer from local jodhpur management colleges.
Infrastructure & Library Wise: Amity is way ahead of NLU. Amity has big library with more than 2 Lacs books, periodical & journals. NLU has a Library with only 4000 books, periodicals & journals. All are Law books....except 200- 300 books meant for management students.
Campus Recruitment: Excellent campus recruitment at Amity. At NLU there is no campus recruitment....takes place for MBA students. All off campus recruitment ....NLU Arranges for their suudents.
Placement(2008 ) : Amity's highest package Rs. 24.5 lakhs, Lowest Rs. 3.8 Lakhs, Average Rs. 5.6 Lakhs.(100% Placement)
NLU's highest package Rs. 6.2 lakhs, Lowest Rs. 3.2 Lakhs, Average Rs. 4 Lakhs. (But only 60% students were placed)
Placement(2009): Amity's highest package Rs. 10 lakhs, Lowest Rs. 3.2 Lakhs, Average Rs. 4 Lakhs.(55% Placement)
NLU's highest package Rs. 3 lakhs, Lowest Rs. 3 Lakhs,(But only 3 students were placed.....which means only 5%).
In a Nut shell. NLU may be good for a Law student. But when MBA comes into question ......Amity is way ahead....of Not only NLU .....but many good institutes in INDIA.
MY Suggestion: Before taking admission into any "B-School" go through a at least 2-3 Yrs past record of the institute. And dont hypothetically jump into a conclusion tat ....."may be the institute will do better after 2 or say 3 years".
Hi Sabz & Others,
Well according to me, if u havent make it to "Top 20 B-school" in India....then probably Amity....is one of the best places to study. There are also few other B-schools which provides parallel fascilities, Infrastructures, placements etc....some of them are:
1. KJ Somaiya
2. BIM, Trichy & Bangalore
3. Amity
4. NMIMS (Mumbai)
5. Alliance B-school
6. LIBA (Chennai)
7. FORE (New Delhi)
8. XIME, Bangalore
9. IISWBM, Kolkata
10.Welingkar, Mumbai.
Go for these institutes only if u people, fail to crack "Top 20". Regarding NLU, Its not a B-school. No idea of NLU's placement.
justniharika Sayseven i am facing the same prblm...m in dilemma whether to join amity, noida for genral mba or w8 for nlu mba.
@Niharika.
My call would be NLU Jodhpur, one of a kind course. Placements will get higher as quality of the course and the institute is quite high. There is always a motive and farsight involve, if institute of national level introduce a fusion course like this one. Law firms require MBAs and this course gives you a certain exclusivity from the magh mela type MBA crowd. It is certain that it will achieve a brand value. Plus you are almost missing the kind of diverse options it opens for you in terms of career choices. Anytime in your life you can switch to a career of teaching and with a tag of National level insti, things become all the more easy. Due to the demand supply imbalance you are less liklely to get a pink slip in anykind of economic fluctuation. I am focussed to show you the bright side of NLU rather than negatives of Amity as I don't believe any institue can be bad. So, give ample amount of time to come to your decision. I have no connection with NLU whatsoever, just saw the details of this course on website during my MBA research as I am an aspirant too. Why you should not go to NLU ? If you have a clear idea about the kind of work you would be doing in Post MBA job, and if it's not in sync with the MBL-MBA course then it might not be a good idea. Send a PM if you need more orientation in this regard.
