NITIE Own Test cancelled... admission now through CAT
NITIE, Mumbai has announced that due to the AICTE notification the NITIE own Test for admission to the PGDISEM /PGDIM (2004-06) scheduled to be conducted on 18th January 2004, now stands cancelled and admission to the institute will be through CAT to be held on 15th February 2004.
All aspirants must now have a CAT 2003 score to apply for admission into PGDIM/PGDISEM programmes at NITIE, Mumbai
They must use the new Application Form obtainable by post from Academic Section, NITIE, Vihar Lake, Mumbai 400 087
The new completed Application Form must show your CAT Centre Code and CAT Registration Number
Only those applicants with a valid CAT score will be eligible for selection for Group Discussion/Interview to be held at NITIE Mumbai after the CAT examination.

They havent mentioned this in their admissions section...seems it is yet to be updated...but it is given in the IMS website...

They are already flashing the message at the NITIE site, So i think the news is authentic

TAPMI: the last date for issue of Application form has been extended to 20th Dec \'03, and the last date for submission of completed application form extended to 31st Dec 03
SP Jain, Mumbai: the last date for issue of Application form has been extended to 21st Feb \'04
IMI, Delhi: the last date for issue of Application form has been extended to 15th Feb \'04

guys.....guess its good news for those that haven't applied there or don't want to go thro' the rigour of another exam.....but on a different note, i really don't c any sort of logic in nitie's decision.......an institute that specialises in operations, per se an engineer's domain, will now not get to test that aspect.......not exactly sure how beneficial it is to the ppl that r gonna make the cut.....guess all a trickle down effect of our gr8 HRD ministry's order....
