Its been a nice experience trying to give a satisfactory reply your queries. I observed something that hurt me and hence couldn't resist myself from posting here.
Puys, pg is a wonderful place. I, however, am not an authorised or appropriate person to say this but being a MADCAPZ i got this onus over me to try to correct it to my level best. Puys avoid the sms lingo on pg. It has got certain rules. Sms language is rather a pain to eyes. While writing an sms we've a limitation on characters but the same is not here over pg.
Avoid sharing personal info viz email, phone number etc. You can have a look about the rules on the home page of pg. Moderators may take any strict action for the same, resulting in from a simple warning to a lifetime ban.
Didn't mean to offend anyone. I was just discharging my duties and my responsibilities.

I have got a call from NIT, durgapur. I am a BBA final year student and I am presently working with naukri.com (Info Edge India Ltd). I have just joined a month ago and getting on well with the job.
I am a bit confused weather to join nit or continue with my job and then go for an executive mba after two yrs of work ex? Doing MBA at Durgapur(my hometown) will save a lot of money but will that be benificial for me as I am not very sure about the placements that nit provides. Moreover leaving a MNC will be a big gamble.
Please help me as I am have very less time in my hand...

By now I believe that campus recruitment of 2011 batch is over. Hence I want to know how many companies came for exclusive on-campus placement for the batch 2011.
Please note that I want to know the name of only those companies that came for on campus placement for the 2011 batch, bcoz that will give an idea about the placement creditability of the college.

Sorry dear Arnab, i'm too late to reply to your post. In my opinion, none can make the best judgement in a situation which you are facing. You need to introspect a little, your present requirements, your future avenues with the mnc and in case you go for nit. Pros and cons can be best evaluated by you as one can't place and fit him/herself properly at your place. Weigh the various opportunities and threats you may get by opting either of the ways present before you. All the best.

@ GUITAR FREAK- well i must help u to come out of this, first of all u need to interospect wheather you are satisfied with the present job or not in terms of money and satisfication that u have with the job, and then you decide about leaving the job. If you donot have any problem with the job as far as monetary term is considered, you should not take the admission in NIT and keep on doing job and again try for CAT next year and try to get admission in good insty where you can get better placement oppurtunity....else if you are not satisfied with your job, then you should join NIT, whatever be case, you should analyse pros and cons properly and then decide.....Gud luck...

@ DON 88- well you are right that placement is over by now for this year. The companies that visited for on- campus placement this year are- Coal India Ltd., Bank of Baroda, IDBI Bank, Visa Steel, Adore weiding Company, TCS. College sent some student to appear in some off campus interviews of some companies too from its side- Metal Junction, Hindustan Glass, L & T Finance.. thats all as far as on- campus and off- campus companies are concerned, hope this will help you to resolve your queries

Hey, I am new in this forum, Want to do MBA after I complete by B.Tech from a private colleg in Durgapur in 2012. As I have been staying in Durgapur, I have come to know that NIT Durgapur is quite good in engg. But how good is it for MBA? Does it offer MBA or PGDM? Also the expected marks in CAT so that I may get a call from this College??
