CAT 2010 Cut-off:
Overall - 80 Percentile
& For Overall Percentile >= 95 , Sectionals were not considered.. ;)

CAT 2009 Cut-off:
Overall - 90 Percentile
& For Overall Percentile >= 95 , Sectionals were not considered.. ;)

it's going down...year on year...:splat:
come on man, after all, they want to interview a broad spectrum of candidates... the number of candidates interviewed has to be more...it doesn't matter much what kind of interviews:shocked::wow: the panel takes, right??

then they should take it to 50%ile i believe...or may be even give a call to everyone who has applied...after all, they want to see "Managerial Potential"....scores don't matter much right??

Somesh, I would suggest you to read the sentence carefully and observe that there is a comma after >=95

What he meant to say was that if you have a percentile greater than or equal to 95, sectional cut offs are not considered in your case.

Here is the placement report of the IMNU batch of 2009-2011.

The annual average package offered by recruiters to the MBA students at Nirma University has risen by 13 per cent this year.

The average annual package of Rs 6.20 lakh that was offered by the recruiters in the final placements last year has gone up to Rs 7 lakh this year.

The highest package offered to the students also went up from Rs 9 lakh per annum last year to Rs10 lakh this year.

The offer was made by Ranbaxy Laboratories which was taking part in the institute's placement process for the first time this year.

The final placement at the Institute of Management at Nirma University began in the form of a rolling placement in December 2010 and ended in mid-February this year.

"We have had a very good placement this year and many new companies took part in it. All the students who took part in the placement have secured good jobs," said Harshal Bhagwat, manager of corporate relations and placements at the institute.

Infosys was the largest recruiter of the management students from the campus this year. It recruited 34 students, while ICICI hired 18 students. More than 40 companies participated in the recruitment process this year, including new recruiters from sectors like pharmaceuticals, micro finance and fast moving consumer goods taking part for the first time.

Out of a total of 170 students of the full time MBA programme at the university, 166 took part in the placement process this year, while the rest of the four students preferred to opt out and make their own arrangements..

Thanks for this insight. It will be greatly helpful.

I wanted to know about : What kind of profile is offered to the students recruited by Infosys or other IT companies ? AND How much weightage is give to experience by these IT companies ?

PS: I have 2.3 years of exp in IT. Currently working in Oracle Mumbai and wanted to pursue MBA in Finance.

Hey, I'd like to know about the admission procedure.
I mean the GD-PI and more about the cutoffs. Someone mentioned the cutoffs were 80%ile. Is that correct.
Also if you could throw some light on how much weightage would experience of some 9 months hold at the time of PI and while giving out calls.

Yes it is true last time the cutoff was 80%ile what I think is that the cutoff is deliberately reduced. There are two reason for this
1. less trust in online CAT which results in low down of cutoff for almost all good b-schools. including IIM K N IIM I.

2. another is to increase batch diversity which is quite evident when I compare my batch with my senior batch.

Call giving procedure is straight based on CAT %ile and after that 70% weightage given to CAT %ile 30% to GD-PI though work ex is given proper consideration and 50% of batch is having some or other kind of workex. so your 9 months work ex is useful.

Hey it doesn't work that way , almost every college is skeptical about CAT from past two years IMT G and TAPMI has given call to everyone who has applied and consider CAT%ile at later stage and yes finally what matter is managerial potential and there are so many people every year who cannot make it to any decent B-school even after scoring reasonably well in CAT but every Manager need atleast minimum level of logical analytical mind and language command so CAT is mostly used for screening purpose. I hope I made it clear to you.
