Hi,
this is my first thread. excuse any mistakes.
Me and a friend started a book on wikipedia (wikibooks) which is based on linking words to stories , to help memorize the meanings of words.

Please take a look and contribute.
We have made around 30 stories so far ( still uploading) and will be making more. But looks like crowd sourcing is a better option.

Our calculations are like this:
Barron's word list has around 3500 words. there are around 300 people viewing this forum currently. If each of you pick 1 word and make a story and put it up, we will cover 300 words in one day. We ll have the entire list ready by 10 days. If only the two of us contribute, we ll need 1500 days :-(

Do let us know if you like the idea or if you have any suggestions for improvement.

Thanks

nice man. I was able to remember many words.

well.. i wud like 2 share my approach...
i frankly.. wasnt much motivated 2 peep in d newspaper on a daily basis...
(like most of us )
But then.. wenever i read it,i made a habit.. 2 jot down all d difficult words in a separate copy.. n tried "using" dem
i must tell u... it helped a lot
and it also started encouraging me 2 read newspaper on a regular basis
And most commonly... recent words r only asked in CAT

So... Best luck

Hi,
Your post is really helpful and creative. Being an English teacher, I thought of pointing a small error in Grammar here. "Me and a friend" is incorrect. Make it "My friend and I...".
Would love to contribute on your blog. Meanwhile you can go to wiziq.com and search for Free IELTS Tests there, to find my tests on Grammar. Do tell me if you find them useful.
