Hello everyone

I need some serious advice from those who got IIM calls and other friends preparing for CAT-2012.
I am working in Jindal Steel & Power Ltd. since July, 2011. I gave CAT-2011 without any coaching and got 93 percentile. My problem is that being in a steel plant, I reside in a very remote place ( Angul, Orissa) with no proper coaching centers for MBA preparation. I am pretty serious about CAT-2012 and wish to put in all my efforts for the same. I wish to do a crash course for 3 months before CAT to streamline my preparations. But, as I said, this city is very remote and doesn't offer any coaching or test centers. Even if I do self-study, I would miss all those mock tests that prepare the candidate for examination temperament. Hence, I am thinking to quit my job in August ( thereby completing 13 months of job ex ) and go to Delhi to join a crash course. My plan is to study hard for 3 months, give CAT; then prepare for XAT for 1.5-2 months.

I have gone through earlier posts and threads dealing with the same issue and found varied response. Some say quitting job will put a bad impression during interview..is it true?

Some are of the opinion that preparing for CAT after quitting your job will add pressure to your preparations. Some say that if you are focused, then leaving the job will help you concentrate and prepare well.
What should do? Please advise me. My main point for leaving the job and doing a crash course is to prepare in a competitive environment. I don't wish to regret later that if I had left my job, I could have got better percentile. If there is someone who had left his/her job 3-4 months before CAT to prepare, I would like to talk to him/her.
