Its not at all dumb, I myself took some time understanding how .nrg works!
You need to download tools from the internet that help you mount .nrg files and then play them - daemon tools, Alcohol120 1.9.6.5429, magicISO are just some of the tools that play .nrg. They create virtual drives (like E,F,etc).
I use alcohol:drinking: and it works great, note that these tools slow down the system while playing .nrg.

Guys I have a doubt.... the CFA requires the candidate to have a U.S bachelors degree or an equivalent... I am a Science grad who is interested in CFA... I will be joining my MBA this year ... So am I eligible to take the exam...
I will be preparing for the exam simultaneously with my MBA but take the exams after some time...
No you dont need 16 yrs of education for CFA AIMR.
You can start it after your 3 years graduation.
Can I sit for CFA-1 after 3 years of my btech...in June slot...?
To be exact, I m completing my Btech by April 2010..So wat is the earliest possible slot to sit for CFA-1..

I wud be enrolling for CFA this week and have an important query...
I would be starting with my MBA next month and have planned to take CFA xams along with it.The query is regarding the scheduling of cfa xams...
I planned to take Level1 in Dec'08 and Level2 in June'09...i mite sound overconfi but this is what i aim for....
After talking to few i have been adviced to keep a year gap btw level1 and 2 as level 2 is very difficult and would take a lot of time to prepare.this means i shud take level2 in june'10 rather than june'09 and shud take level 1 in june'09 rather than dec'08 as it will give me enough time for both the levels.
Please advice me what shud be my course of action...
1. Level1 in Dec'08 and Level2 in June'09...this was my initial plan i am wish to stick to it.
2. Level1 in june'09 and level2 in june'10..this is what i have been adviced for...and sounds practical
Seniors and expert of the same domain...please advice me so that i can plan accordingly.

its my perception that since u have a very good background and you are getting into MBA soon,so summers wont be a problem..i think ideolly if u give L1 in dec,u get a chance to do L2 in june..u never know wat ahead of it then..becaz tere are many things which may be considered as now may be we can take exam in india from dec(havnet heard of ) but quite a possibility..may be not..
then since ur in mba u might feel doing later after completing ur mba if u take a gap from dec 08 to june 10..ofcourse u may take L1 in 09 both the months too..but u may miss and have to wait for L2 to clear..if i were in ur position then i wuld have taken L1 for sure as it really has lot of recognition worldwide..an MBA may give u a bigger picture but only that cant make u enter finance firms..if u have CFA u can make it much big internationoally..so its juts matter of little months :)..u keep them with u means L1,L2 simultaneously..try hard..do MBA +L1+L2 together..if it goes great u have got a great chance to learn..else alsou can wait for things to come and been accepted whenevr they r destined..

1) it will be too difficult to prepare for L2 in just 5-6 months that you will get in between. so take L2 in 2010 only.
2)however I'd suggest that you take L1 in december cause you might be busy with your internship in summers and CFA will also help you in getting a better internship.
3) most of us don't study until its exam time. so clearing L1 in december will leave you with 1 1/2 years for Level II. and L I is comparatively easy.
So looking at a CFA after your 3 yr graduation is not a problem...then what does the US degree or equivalent mean.. I thought it was like an MS where you need to have 16 yrs of education in INDIA...

Couple of quick points:
1) Studying for more than 6 months for any CFA level could lead to severe burnout deteriorating performance.
2) Attempting L1 in December keeps you options open in June - For L2 or even L1 again - I don't want to sound pessimistic, but remember that CFA is just not yet another exam!
If I were you, I would attempt L1 in Dec'08 and if all goes well, attempt L2 in Jun'09, keep Jun'10 as a buffer or even have a crack at L3 then :wink:
