I am also taking the june exam and I dont think you need to take any other tests. Book 6 would be sufficient. Although i would suggest that you go thru standard practices handbook for ethics.
That shud help you al ot since ethics is around 15% of the test.

We have received some very disappointing news regarding the status in India of the globally recognized CFA examinations.
You may have learned of the recent letter from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) concluding that CFA Institute has not obtained approval to conduct the CFA Program in India and must cease all operations in India. (You can see a copy of the letter on our website at www.cfainstitute.org/aboutus/worldwide/asiapac/pdf/aicte_letter.pdf .)
While we maintain that the CFA Program is neither a technical program nor a diploma, and therefore not subject to the AICTE regulations, we will continue to comply with all regulatory decisions.
We will do everything in our power to hold the CFA examinations on 3 June in India as scheduled, but we cannot guarantee that the exams will be held
Given this unfortunate situation, we are offering you three options. Please select your preference from the list below and we will contact you with additional information:
Cancel your exam enrollment for June 2007. You may defer, or reschedule, for the next exam date or receive a refund of your enrollment fees.
Continue your preparation in hopes that we can resolve this issue before 3 June 2007. You would still have the deferral / refund option available, as above.
Take the exam on 3 June 2007, but at a location outside India. We will try to accommodate you at the alternate location of your choice.

WTF? i spent so many sleepless nights and so much moolah for an exam which probably won't even be conducted??? that's so wrong for all of us candidates !!! and i compromised on my b school grades as well for this this chimera??? how unfair!! down with the decision!!!! :'(
Someone please give me hope of giving my CFA level 1 in India in Dec 2007. Any guesses what are the chances of the exams being conducted in India in Dec 2007.

More than 60 yrs old institute conducting paper in 6 continents and they think they are not eligible to provide quality education..
And just 5 yrs old CFA india with some bullshit tripura university affiliation can provide a quality education...

going by my experience of our great judicial system, i seriously doubt if we'll have the exam on 3rd june.
Now after so many hours of prep & screwing my grades for CFA, I'm Really really keen on taking this exam, THIS june.
If there is someone who feels the same, please PM me. We can go to a location which is the cheapest (Singapore/Colambo??) . If 2 or more guys go, it'll be cheaper that way (hotels and stuff)

Look, whether AICTE ppl are mad or not is a different issue. But one thing is clear, CFA Institute should have followed the rules of our country.
By the way ICFAI is 22 years old.
There is no point in throwing dirt at one another.
No one has the right to comment on the quality of the course, we all are not that big. We do not stand anywhere infront of these people.
In this war one has to win and the other has to loose, no one can help it.
Wise thing would be, not to get disheartened and plan for giving the exams at the nearest overseas location. Start looking for the plane bookings and accomodation right now, June is approaching fast.
For Level 2 and Level 3 candidates the only option is to opt for Srilanka as Indians dont need any visa for Srilanka visit and living there is cheaper too.
For Level 1 either decide for Srilanka or wait for the issue to get resolved by 3rd June or Dec 2007.

The journalist is Payal if anybody wants to drop on at their studio .Atleast call her and provide references of somebody who is around that area and would like to go on camera.

I am quite amazed to see how this is being handled by CFA with just 10 days to go for exam. There are quite a few ppl I know who have not yet received the mail regarding the probable cancellation.
Also there are many ppl (including my wife) who are on leave studying for the exam who would not be aware about the happenings till perhaps they reach the exam center.
Hopefully CFA Institute show some more concern for candidates & come out clear with the details with course of action in newspapers tomm.
