Need some Opinions on CFA

I want to know that can we pay the fees of CFA through net banking.....or is it only through credit card(which I don't have)...........

I don't think netbanking is an option...It takes just a few days to get a credit card. Get one man!

@divya12bharti Hi..dear as per my knowledge , you have to pay exam fee again , & as once you are registered so, you don't need to pay registration fee..

You need to be in the final year or have 4 years workex for CFA L1 appearance.

Hi,
I am a pre-final year engineering student at IIT-Kharagpur. Currently I am pursuing mining engineering and frankly want to change my job opportunity sector.
I am interested in joining finance sector, grab a good job and earn a 7 figure salary in 3-5 years.
So basically I came to know about CFA and have been reading about and researching about it from past 2 days.
I want information about how difficult it is to crack the exam. The much reading I have doing tells me that you only require a 6-month disciplined study of about 2-3 hours everyday(that seems to be easy and comfortable task) to crack the exam and about 38% of all candidates qualify level-1 exam. Is it that easy?
Is that true and how many candidates appear globally and from India annually?
Is CFA recognized by investment firms in India and what are job opportunities for CFA Level-1 & level-2 qualifiers in India?

What are the subjects/papers in L2 which has the least chances of being changed(or minimal changes)? I wanna start studying for L2 before the results.(and am not sure, whether i would give l2 @ 2012 or 2013)

if not explicitly mentioned in the criteria by the IIMs...does clearing CFA L1/2/3 have an advantage in the admissions...to be more precise...Only Indian courses like ca/cs have point system for many IIMs...CFA does not find a mention...soo will clearing certain levels of CFA have any impact at all in the IIM selection process?

Yes - provided that you play your cards right.

i knw CFA is far better dn any othr certi but if i just want to target some finance knwledge , will NCFM serve the purpose??, or any othr keeping time as a constraint!!!

NCFM is totally different than CFA. If u r looking for a professional course than u shud got for CFA. or you can do CIFR program from Copal Institute. This is a very short term duration program for those who wants to make career in finance/financial research industry.@

Acquiring knowledge does not require you to do a "course" - you just need to study and have the mindframe to be able to grasp.
Check what is your target...
@ank92gwalior I was just browsing thru PG when I read yr post abt CFA .....may be its not coming through very clearly or I am at a loss of understanding but it seems you just wish to do a FIN Course to get yr career in a fast lane and earn a 7 figure salary ?? Really ?? I mean do you really love FINANCE as a subject ?? Don't get me wrong but i have seen people ruining their careers going for the stuff they never loved and that practically starts with an Engineering degree.....and adds on ....so if u really are passionate abt FIN , then only proceed in that direction .......my point of view though......:) Cheers

agreed !! Rightly , aptly said !
Guys Clearing CFA and FRM both is a good Idea or not. Im writing CFA June 2013 and Planning to write FRM ma 2013. Some say its of no use as they Focus or very different areas. But I wanted to know clearing both of them will Give me any advantage in CV points or no ?

@Tyranitar Mere bhai ye CFA aur FRM CV points nahi hain .. Please at least ye khyal apne mind se nikal do. Both are globally recognised professional which u shud go for - IF AND ONLY IF YOU ARE THAT MUCH PASSIONATE ABOUT YOUR CAREER IN FINANCE . Make a research , ask urself , ask seniors , ask pagalguy users , read magazines ,newspapers and so on ... and then you can at least THINK ki aage kya choose karna hai ... CV POINTS KE LIE BOHT SARI CHEEZEIN HAI IS WORLD MEIN , OTHER THAN CFA OR FRM TO SAY , AT LEAST !! Pls see to it that i am not going rude in this reply but just telling u the truth. What u have to do is upto u only .

Hope this helps. Good luck

@Tyranitar Globally Recognised Professional QUALIFICATIONS .... it was in the reply ...
