Hi,I have just completed my MCom and planning to appear for CFA Level 1 in June 2013. Would it be helpful as a first degree?
I mean most pple doing CFA have already some other professional qualification. Would it be fine to do it as the main professional qualification? Or should i look up some other degrees? What is the salary one can expect with a CFA degree? Please help urgently as i plan to register before Sept 19, 2012
Any help will be appreciated. I am very confused. Thanks!
I am planning for cfa june 13 level 1. Currently m into job and have done B.Tech. Can anyone guide me on how and from where to start, are there any reference materials to refer before doing the registrations. I want to have a feel of the course and the topics covered before going for the registration.
Is the material provided by the CFA institute sufficient enough or do i have to look for some other notes like scheweser etc.
How much time should be given to each topic... plz help...?
And if level 1 doesn't gets cleared in first attempt, will i have to do the registration again. If yes, then how much do they charge?
@heepstones sir am currently in second year of B.E. nd i vl be in third year in june. so plz tell me cn i go for L1 in june 2013,as per the cfa website they say u shud be in final year of grad but they do not demand any documents like marksheet or something.
i came across this website n found it very useful on cfa stuff...
I am a BBA wid commerce background... not too good with finance stuff .
ryt now working from last 4 months n will be giving cat this tym.. my aptitude is not too gud so i am expecting an average b- school wid mba in finance ...
can any one suggest me that in my case is cfa worth giving a shot or not as it is an expensive and hard stuff all about?

hiii... its good to see your interest for cfa.. i would suggest you that once you order the cfa material from any of the xerox shops in mumbai and go through it well.. there is still a a lot of time left for registration...There is no doubt that it is costly but once if you clear it then just imagine the worth that it carries in your CV...
with CFA in hand the FLIP certificate would not add much of value...
Do not agree completely - Skill based programs will help you even if you are L1 or L2. A person needs more than just self study to be a success in the industry. He / She needs coherent knowledge of the workings and skills required in the industry and more typically... a mentor.
My suggestion is to go for a skill based program along with a certification.
@RuchikaBiyani hi Ruchika..i know of a friend who got his cfa fees refund owing to health issues. Please remember: i) keep a track of the date before which you have this option to defer or withdraw ii) mail the CFA authorities the medical certificate. Things should be fine then. Get well soon:-)
